Jennifer Lawrence Says She Identifies as a “Stay-at-Home Mom”

Jennifer Lawrenceis adding a new title to her mom playbook.

Despite a successful acting career that has continued since she and her husband, Cooke Maroney, welcomed their two sons – Cy, who is 4, and another son born in 2025 – she prioritizes being a mother above all else.

Jennifer shared on the SmartLess podcast with Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes that while she’s a stay-at-home mom, she’s definitely still working.

Jennifer Lawrence, now 35, has appeared in several films since becoming a mother, and is expected to return as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping later this year. She’s still learning how to balance her growing career with the demands of motherhood.

Jennifer said she wasn’t accustomed to this level of busyness. While she’s used to working hard during filming – typically for about three months – it’s a different kind of busy. During filming, she has a simple routine: work, home, sleep, and repeat. Then, there are the two weeks of promotion, which she described as truly chaotic.

Even with a busy schedule, the actress from Die My Love is making time for her new role as a hockey mom.

I didn’t expect to see that in Kentucky. My husband used to play hockey, and our kids, who are 41, often play together at home.

Jennifer and her husband, married since 2019, enjoy spending time with their children and are also figuring out how to be parents in a way that works for their family.

She confessed that her husband is very different from her. He’s incredibly organized and provides stability, keeping everything neat and in order – she even jokes about needing to hide the mess! She now understands why their children thrive on a strict schedule, as he’s excellent at maintaining it. However, they’ve found a way to make their marriage work by allowing her a little bit of flexibility – about 15 minutes – to do things her own way.
