The popular show ‘Only Murders in the Building’ is now filming in London, and a group of well-known British actors will be appearing in the new season.
The fifth season of the show left viewers with a shocking cliffhanger and a brand new murder to investigate. Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) were stunned when Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), a competitive podcaster, died right outside their building in New York City.
It has now been confirmed that in season 6, the main three characters will travel to the UK as they investigate who might be behind the recent events.
I’m excited to report some fantastic casting news! The team has just announced that comedy legend Jennifer Saunders, fresh off the success of Bridgerton Simone Ashley, and the brilliantly sharp Sharon Horgan from Bad Sisters are all joining the project. It’s a truly impressive lineup and I’m already anticipating great things.
The cast is growing with the addition of Sean Teale, known for his work on ‘The Gold,’ Amar Chadha-Patel from ‘The Decameron,’ Rhea Norwood of ‘Heartstopper,’ and Matthew Beard who appears in ‘Funny Woman’.
Will the podcast hosts, now acting as detectives, find friends or enemies along the way? We don’t yet know which actors will play the different roles, but based on past seasons, it’s safe to say everyone will have secrets.
Filming started in London in May, and Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short were all spotted filming scenes downtown.
Recent photos on the show’s Instagram page show the cast having fun near the London Eye and at a party. At the party, actress Jennifer Saunders – famous for her work on the British comedy Absolutely Fabulous – sported a vibrant pink wig.

The actors were also seen filming a scene inside a capsule on the London Eye, and Steve Martin took a selfie with one of the lion statues in Trafalgar Square.
We don’t have a confirmed release date for the new season yet, but the show has consistently premiered a new season each year.
The show is currently on track to premiere before the end of 2026. We’ll share updates as soon as we have them!
