Jessa Duggar Gives Birth, Welcomes Baby No. 6 With Husband Ben Seewald

Jessa Duggar’s family has expanded.

On August 2nd, the former star of “19 Kids and Counting,” Ben Seewald, along with his spouse, became parents to their sixth child following a labor period of approximately 7.5 hours.

In a recent YouTube video on August 4th, Jessa didn’t disclose the identity or gender of the newborn, but shared that when the baby was born and everything went smoothly, she couldn’t help but cry. ‘The baby is crying, I’m crying,’ she said, describing it as a beautiful moment and expressing gratitude.

Now the family has grown to include eight members with the addition of a new baby. The older children are named Spurgeon, age 9, Henry, age 8, Ivy, age 5, Fern, age 3, and George, who is 1 year old.

Initially, they disclosed their pregnancy on an Instagram post from March, which displayed ultrasound images of their baby, and Jessa wrote, “Almost there to hold you in our embrace!

As one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children, Jessa, has openly discussed various aspects of her life with followers, such as her teenage years and 2014 wedding to Ben. She has also been honest about the challenges they have experienced in trying to grow their family.

In 2022, two years following her disclosure of a miscarriage, she spoke publicly about discovering that another pregnancy was non-viable.

In a YouTube video posted on February 2023, the reality TV personality expressed: “I’d never anticipated the impact of those words at that instant.” At that very second, I was utterly stunned. I found myself speechless. All I could do was break down in tears.

Coming from a large family, her and Ben didn’t give up on their hopes to grow their family.

In a YouTube video posted in September 2023, the woman expressed joy at being pregnant with George, whom they’ve been given as a rainbow baby. She and her partner are deeply grateful for this new life that has come to them after a difficult time.

Next month on Instagram, she posted, “Each heartbeat we hear, each ultrasound image we see, and every positive medical visit… our concerns seem to lessen a little more. We are incredibly blessed by God.

Furthermore, as Jessa and Ben brought their sixth child into the world-the 37th grandchild for Jim Bob and Michelle-the expansive Duggar family continues to flourish. In fact, Jedidiah Duggar and his wife Katey recently welcomed twin daughters in January.

Indeed, Jim Bob and Michelle are now grandparents of 37.

As a lifestyle expert, let me share some exciting news! I’m thrilled to announce that the wonderful couple, Jeremiah Duggar, and his beautiful wife Hannah Duggar, are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their third bundle of joy later this year. Similarly, another beloved duo, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, and her exceptional partner Jeremy Vuolo, are also preparing for the birth of their third child. It’s a time of great joy and anticipation in the Duggar-Vuolo family!

As the Duggar family continues to grow, it becomes increasingly challenging to identify everyone, particularly the younger ones.

It turns out that during the holiday season, Jinger’s daughters, Felicity Vuolo (age 6) and Evangeline Vuolo (age 4), found it challenging to recall everyone’s names.

She expressed that it was heartwarming for Felicity and Evie to spend time with their cousins as they adore them deeply. During the January 1st episode of the Jinger & Jeremy Podcast, she mentioned. They often struggle to recall some of the names, and it seems like many of the cousins do the same. However, she clarified that it’s not their names they forget-it’s the older relatives, such as aunts and uncles. With so many family members, it can be challenging to remember everyone.

Originally a sweetheart duo in high school, these parents of nineteen and grandparents of more than thirty little ones have a long history together.

Michelle shared an experience where she felt “rescued” at the age of 15. One evening, Jim Bob was conducting house visits as part of his Baptist church duties, and upon a suggestion from a friend, he approached the Ruark family’s home, since they had learned that “a girl from school who recently found faith and is a cheerleader” resided there.

In a church, they asked Michelle to attend their Sunday school, and Jim Bob expressed his hope that God might make them each other’s spiritual guides. However, it seemed Michelle didn’t find their initial encounter particularly noteworthy. A year later, Michelle applied for a job at the frozen yogurt store owned by Jim Bob’s parents. In a blog post written for Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd anniversary, Michelle recalled their first meeting: “You stood behind the counter where I approached you. You were bashful but kind! I don’t remember much about that interaction, except that you eventually asked me to accompany you to your junior-senior banquet!

At Shiloh Christian, they both went to a dinner together, but it was later, when they spent hours discussing the Bible at her parents’ house, that she felt a strong connection with him. As Michelle puts it, “Our hearts became intertwined from there.” They completed high school in May 1984 and got married in July, making her 17 and him 19 years old at the time.

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.

Jim Bob previously held a position as a state legislator, representing Arkansas’s sixth district in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. During his tenure, he served as vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He attempted to run for U.S. Senate in 2002 but was unsuccessful in the primary. In 2006, he also failed to secure the Republican nomination for Arkansas State Senate District 35.

They, along with Michelle, who are both real estate agents, have been actively involved in conservative movements – a part of their lifestyle that has earned them admirers (supporters) and detractors (critics). Additionally, they were both fans and vocal opponents of the show “19 Kids and Counting,” which debuted in 2008 as “17 Kids and Counting.

As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

The oldest Duggar child, Josh Duggar, entered the world on March 3, 1988. Likewise, he took up the mantle of a conservative activist, advocating for organizations such as the Family Research Council.

In 2015, records from his past as a police officer emerged, which showed that he had been accused of molesting multiple girls, including his sisters Jessa Duggar and Jill Duggar, when he was a teenager. After these allegations surfaced, Josh stepped down from his position. Later in June of the same year, Jessa spoke out on Fox News, defending her brother by stating that some of the harsh names people were using to describe him were “exaggerated and untrue.” She added that she felt compelled to speak up because she was one of the victims involved in the incident.

His wife, Anna Duggar, who he wedded during their September 26, 2008 ceremony depicted on “19 Kids and Counting”, remained loyal to him even in the wake of his confession about infidelity.

In 2016, when he admitted himself to a rehabilitation facility, his parents considered it as the initial, vital move towards recovery and healing.

The parents of Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), Marcus (June 2, 2013), and later Anna gave birth to Meredith on July 16, 2015 – the same day TLC canceled “19 Kids”. Their fifth child, Mason Garett, arrived on September 12, 2017, followed by Maryella Hope on November 27, 2019. The most recent addition to their family, Madyson Lily, was born on October 23, 2021.

In an indictment filed in April 2021, Josh faced two separate charges for receiving and possessing child pornography. He denied these allegations on both occasions. In 2022, he was convicted of both offenses (though the possession charge was later dismissed by the judge), resulting in a prison sentence of 12 and a half years.

Not long after Joshua’s birth, Michelle became pregnant once more, unfortunately experiencing a miscarriage. During this difficult time of mourning and seeking guidance, they discovered they were expecting twins instead.

She expressed that it felt like a special gift twice over to Love to Know. It seemed God was providing comfort for their hearts, even as they were still growing and learning. What made this particularly remarkable was the fact that she was breastfeeding one child while already expecting another just eight months later. This was yet another surprising twist in the unique way the Lord was managing our circumstances.

John David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

Following a longtime acquaintanceship, which was rekindled at a church gathering in Oklahoma where they both reside, John David and Abbie-Grace Burnett tied the knot on November 3, 2018, after a brief engagement period.

On January 7, 2020, they happily welcomed Grace Annette Duggar into their family, and in September 2022, they did the same with Charlie Duggar.

On my 30th birthday in January 2020, I penned a heartfelt note to John saying, “From our childhood days onward, people have often wondered if we share some sort of ‘twin connection.’ You know, the kind where you sense what the other is feeling or thinking…Well, John, for years I’ve denied it-but the moment little Gracie was born, I felt every ounce of joy that filled your heart. So, I guess there truly is something to this twin thing after all!

As I observed you and Abbie nurturing your new role as parents, it was truly heartwarming. Your natural talent for this endeavor is evident, and the very traits that have made you an exceptional sibling will undoubtedly shine as you step into the role of an incredible father.

As an ardent admirer, let me recount my extraordinary journey: I, for one among eighteen siblings, bore witness as ten of us pledged our vows before finding my own soulmate in none other than Stephen Wissmann. Remarkably, his sister, Hannah Wissmann, is already bonded with my brother, Jeremiah, through matrimony. Although at times I grappled with feelings of frustration, I firmly believed each step was a carefully orchestrated piece in the divine puzzle of God’s plan for me and Stephen.

In August 2024, just before her wedding, Jana shared with People magazine that she hasn’t always grasped the overall scheme of things, but she trusts that God knows what’s best for everyone. Consequently, her decision to get married later is guided by this belief. She added that if every story were identical, life would be monotonous because each of ours unfolds in a unique way.

Born on May 17, 1991, Jill Duggar Dillard found her own romantic tale mirroring that of her parents’. It was on Christmas 2011 when she crossed paths with Derick, who lived approximately 45 minutes away. This encounter occurred as he dropped by the Duggar family home while out caroling with his church group.

Jim Bob acted as a cupid, and Jill and Derick found themselves drawn to each other through emails and video calls. The father-daughter duo visited Derick in Nepal during November, which further strengthened their bond. As time passed, Jill and Derick’s feelings for one another deepened. In February 2014, Derick asked Jim Bob for his daughter’s hand in marriage, and they got married on June 21, 2014. They are the proud parents of three sons: Israel, born on April 6, 2015; Samuel, born July 8, 2017; and Frederick, born on July 7, 2022.

In the spring of 2024, Jill announced that she had experienced a miscarriage during her pregnancy with their first daughter, along with Derick.

In the throes of unwavering fandom, I couldn’t help but delve into the intriguing complexities that unfolded in the captivating Amazon Prime Video documentary, “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets,” which graced our screens in June 2023. This enthralling journey saw me pondering over the tumultuous controversies and profound religious beliefs enshrouding Jill and Derick’s family, a tale that left me spellbound.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.

Jessa got acquainted with Ben through church, and he started courting her back in 2013 – an antiquated method of romance that took many viewers by surprise. As they hadn’t discussed their past relationships openly, Jim Bob clarified to People magazine, “Courting involves getting to know each other in a social context, with both families spending time together and the couple setting shared objectives to assess if they are destined for marriage. Dating typically means a pair spends time alone together, which can sometimes lead to more physical intimacy.

In August 2014, Ben requested Jessa’s hand in marriage, and following this, he proposed. They sealed their commitment by holding hands for the first time. Their wedding took place on November 1, 2014. While pregnant with their first child, the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting occurred, and TLC aired a special about sexual abuse, featuring Jill and Jessa, to educate viewers further on the topic. That winter, they became the stars of their own show, titled Jill and Jessa: Counting On. This series eventually evolved into Counting On, which featured other Duggar siblings as well.

During November 5, 2015, and February 6, 2017, Jessa and Ben had their sons Spurgeon and Henry respectively. In May 28, 2019, they welcomed a daughter named Ivy Jane, followed by another daughter Fern in July 2021. Unfortunately, in the 2022 holiday season, Jessa experienced a miscarriage. However, she gave birth to son George in December 2023.

On May 7, 2025, Jessa announced baby No. 6 is on the way.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.

Jinger and Jeremy first met while doing church work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They tied the knot on November 5, 2016, which was also her nephew Spurgeon’s birthday (and when you’re part of a family with 19 members, celebrations can overlap!). Shortly after their wedding, people started speculating about the possibility of them expecting a child.

In a year, we anticipate that we’ll be comfortably established, continuing our ministry right here in Laredo, while aiming to serve the Lord in any capacity possible. This is what Jinger expressed during the June 2017 episode of Counting On.

On July 19, 2018, their beloved daughter Felicity entered the world. Back in May of that year, it was announced that Jinger was expecting another child, and sadly, she had experienced a miscarriage in the fall of the previous year. In November 2020, Evangeline Jo joined their family as their newest addition.

Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Born on January 20, 1995, Joseph Duggar found himself proposing to Kendra (a lady he met through church) at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding in May 2017, following only a few short months of courtship.

Joseph shared with People that he was certainly apprehensive leading up to it, yet he wasn’t fearful of her rejecting his proposal because she had previously stated, “I’m just waiting on you!”. Kendra added, “I’m overwhelmed with joy and astonishment. There are so many things I want to express, but all I can say is shocked.

They’ve since made public announcements about the births of their children: son Garrett, who was born in June 2018, daughter Addison, born in November 2019, and daughter Brooklyn, welcomed into the family in February 2021.

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.

A mere few months after their romantic relationship became known to all, they declared their engagement in March 2018. As he stated, the location where he proposed to Lauren was the very same spot where her parents were once engaged. This property holds a significant amount of family history, making it a particularly meaningful place for Lauren.

In a video shared on their blog, Michelle (who is soon to be Lauren’s mother-in-law) expressed her affection for Lauren, saying “Lauren is such a cherished young woman.” Jessa and Ben also sent their congratulations, along with chocolates shaped like x’s and o’s. Michelle playfully hinted at something special if they visited, holding up the treat as a sweet gesture of comfort, implying it as a sort of consolation prize.

In the summer of 2015, a relationship with Marjorie Jackson ended between them, and they parted ways. As Josiah shared with People in March 2016, “Marjorie and I had some great times together.” He continued, “We were both trying to listen to God’s guidance on everything. However, she didn’t feel it was the appropriate moment then, so we took a break for a while.

On June 30, 2018, they officially got married, telling People their special day was “completely perfect.” Their first child, Bella Milagro, was born on Nov. 8, 2019, a name that means “miracle baby,” after the couple had previously experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. They added another daughter, Daisy, to their family in 2022 and welcomed a son named Ezra in May 2023.

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.

She had been friends with Austin Forsyth for fifteen years before he began pursuing her. Following this, there was no delay in their relationship. He proposed in February 2017 and they got married on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas – the same church where Joseph proposed to Kendra.

On February 23, 2018, Joy-Anna and Austin introduced their firstborn, Gideon Martin Forsyth; on August 21, 2020, they added Evelyn Mae Forsyth to the family; and most recently, Gunner James Forsyth joined them on May 17, 2023.

On the 30th of December in 1998, Jim Bob and Michelle welcomed their second pair of twins, named Jed Duggar and Jeremiah Duggar.

In April 2021, Jed tied the knot with Katey Nakatsu, following a year of dating. Their family now includes son Truett, born in May 2022, and daughter Nora Kate, who joined them in June 2023.

In July 2024, Jed and Katey revealed they were expecting twins, and their beautiful girls, Elsie Kate and Emma Kate, arrived on the 8th of January, 2025.

Jeremiah, a qualified flight instructor, is married to Hannah Wissmann (sister of Stephen, who’s married to Jana) and together they have two children: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.

They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.

Back in January 2017, I learned through the Daily Mail that my dear friend Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a $33,000 fixer-upper in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, which is roughly a 30-minute drive from our family’s homestead. Remarkably, he then established his own construction company.

In May 2024, he made his relationship with Maddie Grace public on Instagram, and they got married the following October.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.

As of now, I haven’t made my affection public, but let me tell you, this guy is absolutely smitten with his numerous little nieces and nephews. It’s clear he’s got a soft spot for kids!

On his 19th birthday in 2019, mom Michelle praised James by saying he is a beloved “funcle” (a fun-loving uncle) who inspires all the younger boys around him. As a child, James was always tinkering with household appliances and figuring out how they work, often making modifications to them. Even now, he’s still capable of accomplishing almost anything he sets his mind to!

This year, James dedicated tremendous effort to earn his Commercial Driver’s License, and as a result, he’s now a seasoned professional when it comes to maneuvering large trucks and heavy equipment. We eagerly anticipate seeing where life takes him in the times ahead!

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.

In the spirit of transparency, I made my relationship with Claire Spivey official back in September 2020. We took our bond to the next level the very next month when we became engaged, and on February 26, 2021, we exchanged vows and became husband and wife.

In the presence of his elder sister Jill, Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifteenth child, Jackson Duggar, was welcomed into the world on May 23, 2004.

As I turned sixteen on my birthday, my mom, Michelle, commended my humor and mentioned with a knowing smile that she could just feel my eagerness to finally obtain my driver’s license.

Johannah Duggar, who made her entrance into the world on October 11, 2005, was featured in the initial family special titled “16 Kids and Starting a New Life“.

On her 15th birthday in 2020, Michelle expressed that her daughter is full of life, sociable, and enjoys meeting new people. She also mentioned that her younger sisters idolize her and think she’s as wonderful as the moon itself. Lastly, Michelle shared her heartfelt gratitude to God for giving her the opportunity to be this girl’s mother.

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.

Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.

Michelle penned, “Jennifer is reliable, devoted, and full of joy when her granddaughter turned thirteen. Everyone adores her, and she’s often seen with one of the kids in tow since they don’t want to let her go! Not only that, Jennifer has a deep affection for animals and is diligent in tending to her pets daily. In fact, she recently assisted in rearing a brood of seven baby bunnies!

Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

Back in 2019, my mom affectionately labeled me as an outgoing girl who seemingly knows no strangers. To add to her description, she mentioned that my laughter is often one of the highlights, adding warmth and radiance to our days.

19th on our list is Josie Duggar, who is pictured here with her niece Meredith. Born on December 10, 2009, Josie arrived three months early and weighed a mere 1 pound, 6 ounces. As a result, she had to spend six long months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Michelle commented on Josie’s 11th birthday in 2020, stating that she is like a whirlwind of activity. From sunrise to bedtime, there’s seldom a moment when she isn’t moving!
