Jessica Alba‘s acting memories aren’t all sweet as honey.
Jessica Alba, founder of The Honest Company, has spoken about a difficult experience filming a nude scene for the 2005 movie Fantastic Four. She said she felt uncomfortable being filmed completely naked on a bridge for a scene involving her character, Sue Storm.
Jessica said the experience was “awful” and “very humiliating,” as she discussed it at the Red Sea Film Festival, according to Variety.
The actress, known for her role in Honey, later felt uncomfortable with the nude scenes in the film. She starred alongside Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, and Ioan Gruffud, and felt the film conflicted with her upbringing.
I come from a fairly traditional family and I’m generally a private person,” the 44-year-old said. “I was really worried about filming that scene for weeks, and it left me feeling shaken up for a long time after.
Okay, so everyone keeps talking about how Jessica’s moved on, but honestly? She loved being Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman! It wasn’t all bad, you know? She has so many amazing memories from her time as that character, and it clearly meant a lot to her. I just wish people would remember that part more!
I really admired her,” she explained. “She was warm and caring, like a mother, but she wasn’t afraid to say what she thought. She always did what she believed was right and had strong principles.
Jessica observed that, before then, it was unusual to see female characters who were so self-reliant.
She remembered that in many stories from the past, women often needed a man – either a hero or even the villain – to rescue them. She noted that storytelling has changed since then.

As someone who’s always championed representation, I’m so excited about what Jessica’s doing! She’s started her own production company, Lady Metalmark Entertainment, and her goal is to really shake things up in Hollywood by bringing more diverse stories to the screen. It’s all about seeing different perspectives and experiences reflected in the entertainment we consume, and she’s determined to make that happen.
She explained that when leadership is predominantly male and white, stories are often told from a limited perspective. Those in charge may lack understanding of experiences different from their own, particularly those of women who grew up in different circumstances. She added that many of them may not have known strong, financially independent women throughout their lives.
Jessica said she wasn’t placing blame on Hollywood, but she stressed that improvements are needed.
There aren’t many women in leadership positions yet,” she observed. “But as a woman of color, I don’t think I face the same limitations others might.”
