Fans are thrilled Krysten Ritter is returning for season 2 of *Daredevil: Born Again*, and it now appears likely she’ll also reprise her role as Jessica Jones in a new series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ritter first played the complex and super-powered private investigator Jessica Jones in 2015, starring in three seasons of her own show. She also teamed up with other heroes – Mike Colter, Finn Jones, and Charlie Cox – in the *The Defenders* miniseries, and will once again join forces with Charlie Cox in the upcoming *Daredevil: Born Again* season.
I was really excited to hear more about Jessica Jones’ future during a recent live podcast with Brandon Davis. Brad Winderbaum from Marvel Studios hinted that a fourth season might happen ‘sooner than you think’! Krysten Ritter, who played Jessica, also mentioned she and Brad had talked about exploring more of the character’s story when she joined the *Born Again* project. She stayed pretty tight-lipped about the details, though – which just means they have some cool stuff planned and aren’t ready to share yet!
What the Future Holds for Jessica Jones After Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Ritter and Winderbaum haven’t revealed what they’d like to do with Jessica Jones if she returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But their comments echo those made by Jon Bernthal while Daredevil: Born Again was being made. Bernthal’s desire to continue Frank Castle’s story led to the upcoming The Punisher special and a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, suggesting Marvel might follow a similar path with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones.
Jessica Jones faced numerous challenges throughout her Netflix series, including powerful enemies like Kilgrave, Will Simpson, her mother Alisa, and serial killer Gregory Sallinger. She even had to confront her best friend, Trish Walker, who became a superpowered villain. After enduring a series of traumatic events, Jessica considered leaving New York for a more peaceful life, but she ultimately decided to stay and embrace her role as a superhero. When the show returns in 2026, it will have been seven years since we last saw Jessica in action, leaving fans wondering what she’s been doing all this time.
Jessica Jones will team up with Daredevil against Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin in the upcoming *Daredevil: Born Again* series. This collaboration marks her return to active hero work and could potentially lead to a new season or revival of *Jessica Jones*. The series opens up possibilities for her to fully utilize her powers, reconnect with Luke Cage (her husband in the comics), or even join larger superhero teams like A-Force, the Mighty Avengers, or the Defenders. The future looks promising for Jessica Jones following *Daredevil: Born Again*.
