Mum’s the word within Meghan Markle’s inner circle.
It’s been a while since Meghan Markle and her friend Jessica Mulroney appeared to grow apart, and Jessica’s husband, Ben Mulroney, recently shared an update on their relationship. However, he noted he wasn’t at liberty to reveal many details.
The media personality said on the January 28th episode of the Can’t Be Censored podcast that it’s up to Jess to share her own story. They don’t want to speak for her, but as far as they know, things are going well between them.
Jessica and Ben, who split up in July after 16 years of marriage, were good friends with Meghan while she was filming the show Suits in Toronto. Their three children were even part of Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Around 2020, Jessica’s friendship with Meghan reportedly began to fall apart. This followed an accusation from influencer Sasha Exeter that Jessica displayed “textbook white privilege,” for which Jessica later apologized. After the accusation came to light, Jessica removed herself from social media. When she returned, a photo from the royal wedding was missing from her profile, leading people to believe the two were no longer close.
Later that year, the 45-year-old offered insight into how she curates her online presence.
Jessica explained in an Instagram post from September 2020 that she sometimes deletes posts because she’s tired of seeing the bullying and hateful comments she’s received over the past three years, according to Entertainment Tonight.

She quickly reassured her fans that she and the star of With Love, Meghan were doing fine.
She firmly stated that she and Meghan are like family, emphasizing Meghan’s consistent kindness and daily support. She then criticized the negative and fabricated stories spread by tabloids, urging people to stop supporting them and declaring she was finished discussing the issue, according to People magazine.

Nicole has always loved the films made by her sister-in-law. A few years ago, she asked her if she’d recreate some memorable scenes, and they even acted out a bit from My Best Friend’s Wedding.
During a May 2024 appearance on the Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino podcast, she recounted telling Cameron, ‘I need you to run towards me from behind the luggage cart, towards the airport.’ She explained that she started directing Cameron, telling her exactly what to say while they were driving. According to her, Cameron was very accommodating and willingly followed her instructions, which she appreciated.

Thankfully, Lawrence was free to spend time with Schumer, otherwise we might have missed out on one of our favorite celebrity friendships! It all started when the Oscar-winning Lawrence emailed Schumer after seeing her 2015 movie, Trainwreck. “I told her, ‘I don’t even know how to begin. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you,'” Lawrence remembered telling The New York Times. They began emailing, which quickly turned into texting.
Their friendship really took off when Schumer casually invited Lawrence to join her and her high school friends for a trip to the Hamptons. Schumer was surprised when Lawrence accepted, but quickly realized she was “the coolest person you’ll ever meet,” she said on The Daily Show. Lawrence was so easygoing and fit right in with the group.

Everyone could use a friend who’s successful and has roots in the same neighborhood! Jennifer Lopez and Sofia Vergara have been incredibly close ever since they met and instantly connected at the premiere of Man on Fire in 2004. Lopez described it as an immediate, strong connection – someone who makes you laugh and who you genuinely enjoy being around.
Vergara was also enthusiastically cheering on Lopez when she performed at President Joe Biden’s inauguration. She messaged Lopez, reminding her of her Bronx upbringing and telling her the performance was inspiring and beautiful to watch, according to TopMob News.

Considered the ultimate celebrity friendship, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow have remained close since they first bonded while working on the Warner Brothers lot. A source told TopMob News that they essentially grew up together, sharing the unique experience of filming Friends. Just like staying in touch with former colleagues, they prioritize spending time together, whether it’s for casual happy hours or larger reunions. The source noted that because they all live relatively close to each other, it’s easy to gather for things like Courteney’s Sunday dinners or pool parties at Jennifer’s house, and they maintain a very strong bond that will likely last a lifetime.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have been incredibly close friends ever since they met in an improv class in 1993, and they consider each other family. I’m seriously excited about this new pairing! After years of admiring each other from afar, Drake and Adele – with their combined 19 Grammys – finally started talking about working together. Adele even told a Canadian show how much she wants to do an official remix with him, and she’s such a fan – she actually ordered the same red coat he wore in his video! Drake’s just as enthusiastic, saying he’d do anything for Adele, even laundry! They haven’t jumped straight into the studio yet, but they’ve been hanging out, grabbing food and even hitting up a bowling alley in L.A. Honestly, I’m already anticipating a hit – I’m ready for them to drop something amazing whenever they’re ready!

She often has open and honest conversations with close friends, especially Eva Longoria. The friendship between two prominent television personalities began in 1976 while they worked at a Baltimore station. Although Oprah Winfrey was an anchor and Gayle King a production assistant, and they didn’t typically socialize due to the workplace structure, a snowstorm brought them together. Oprah invited Gayle, who earned $12,000 a year as a PA, to stay with her, and the next day they went shopping at the mall. That’s where their friendship began, bonding over sweaters at Casual Corner.

While your dates probably don’t involve Wimbledon finals or palace visits, Meghan Markle and Serena Williams’ friendship started just like many others—with casual conversation. Meghan wrote on her now-closed website, The Tig, that they connected instantly at a 2014 Super Bowl event. They spent time taking pictures, laughing during a flag football game, and chatting about everyday things – not tennis or acting, but typical ‘girly’ topics.

Even though Game of Thrones is over, the close bond between Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams remains strong. Williams, who was a bridesmaid at Turner’s wedding to Joe Jonas in 2019, playfully suggested that the show’s greatest achievement wasn’t its 12 Emmy Awards. She told TopMob News at the final season premiere, “It felt like the whole show was just meant to help me find a best friend!” She quickly added that the experience was amazing and having such a supportive friend during a whirlwind like Game of Thrones was a true blessing.

Everyone’s heart probably melted watching Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s adorable reaction when their oldest daughter, James, recognized Taylor Swift’s song “Gorgeous” at a concert. But their genuine friendship – which includes celebrating the Fourth of July at Swift’s Rhode Island home, spending time at Reynolds and Lively’s country house, and even appearing in Swift’s music videos – is something special and should be cherished.

Witherspoon said Aniston was incredibly kind and supportive, and that moment marked the beginning of their lasting friendship. “We’ve been friends ever since,” Witherspoon shared.
