I absolutely loved this book! I’d give it a six-star rating if I could. It has everything a fan could want – a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, including funny stories, mishaps, and the original plans. But it’s more than just that; it also tells the story of how the creators, James and Ruth, first met and how the whole project began.

What did you enjoy most about it? The book feels like a real conversation between Ruth and James – it’s like you’re right there with them. It’s very casual and honest, with all the ups and downs of a real relationship – arguments, disagreements, and everything in between!

Reading this book was like rediscovering old treasures! It completely flooded me with forgotten moments from Gavin & Stacey. I was instantly transported back, and I could practically hear Rob Brydon warming up for karaoke – we actually caught him once, hidden behind a curtain, giving it his all! What really struck me was how much love and warmth between everyone involved just radiates from every page. It’s a truly heartwarming read.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys TV, especially those who love Wales, Essex, or sitcoms – particularly fans of Gavin & Stacey! I think it goes perfectly with a Hawaiian pizza from Ristorante, because ham and pineapple are a great combination, just like Smithy and Nessa. I’m a bit biased, but I really loved this pairing!

I was so intrigued to hear what Joanna was enjoying this month! She dove into ‘When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between,’ and honestly, it sounded perfect paired with her go-to comfort food: a Dr. Oetker Ristorante Hawaiian pizza. It’s a bit of a controversial topping, I know, but she says it’s a match made in heaven – just like Nessa and Smithy! It really got me craving both a good book and a slice!
