Joey Lawrence’s family continues to blossom.
Just under a year after getting back together with his wife, Samantha Cope, actor Blossom announced they are expecting their second child.
Joey, 49, jokingly revealed to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of Dancing With the Stars’ 20th anniversary celebration on November 11th that he and his wife are expecting a baby, despite initially saying, ‘Nothing is planned. Not even this!’ He quickly clarified he was just teasing.
Despite being a dad to five daughters – Dylan Rose, 2, with Samantha, and Charli, 19, and Libby Grace, 15, with his ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson – the Melissa & Joey actor is happy to be expanding his family, but he prefers to keep the focus off himself right now.
Okay, so he says he’s not the one making anything happen, but honestly? It’s all about her. He was totally looking at my queen while saying she’s the one with the talent, the drive… he just stands there, basically like a proud spectator saying, ‘Isn’t she amazing?’ It’s perfect, really. He knows she’s the star, and he’s just there to appreciate it. Ugh, goals.
As for how Samantha—who tied the knot with Joey in May 2022—is doing, she noted, “I feel great.”
The actress, known for her role in Marry Christmas, also announced she’s expecting a baby boy and shared her excitement about welcoming him into the family.
Samantha and Joey are starting a new chapter in their relationship after a challenging year. Samantha, 38, initially filed for divorce in August 2024, stating they had irreconcilable differences and requesting full custody of their son, Dylan, with shared legal custody. But four months later, they publicly announced they were back together.
Earlier this year, Joey explained why they chose to work on their relationship instead of ending it, despite going through a difficult time.

He told TopMob News in July that he believed the situation was too simple. While it’s tempting to take the easy route or believe a quick fix will solve everything, he felt that wasn’t always the case, and he didn’t want to rely on it. She felt the same way, recognizing that there was something truly unique and valuable worth preserving.
Joey explained that achieving anything worthwhile requires a lot of effort, constant improvement, and adaptation. He said that’s just how life works – whether it’s family, friendships, or business. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, because you never know what you might accomplish if you keep trying.
Joey and Samantha shared the happy news of her pregnancy at the Dancing With the Stars party, but they weren’t the only famous faces there. Keep reading to find out who else showed up!
