Johnny Knoxville Teases the Return of ‘Jackass’

The Jackass crew, known for their outrageous stunts, has already earned over $415 million worldwide with their four previous films, starting with the 2002 hit Jackass: The Movie. Despite being older, it seems there’s still a big audience for their brand of chaotic fun.

Johnny Knoxville Emails Himself ‘Jackass’ Stunt Ideas

In 2024, Johnny Knoxville told ComicBook that there weren’t any plans for another Jackass movie at the time. However, he continued to come up with ideas for stunts and sketches, just in case the crew decided to film more content in the future.

It’s like once you start doing crazy stunts, you just keep wanting to do more. I’m not really feeling that urge right now, but I still constantly come up with ideas for ‘Jackass’ because it’s just a habit. Whenever I think of something, I write it down and save it, just in case we ever need it, but I’m not sure if we’ll have enough material.

Knoxville recently told Vanity Fair about the surprisingly painful side of his Jackass stunts. He revealed that, even after being bitten on the nipple by a baby alligator and launched into the air by a bull, the worst pain he experienced while filming actually came from being pepper-sprayed.

I’ve had some tough injuries – concussions and broken bones are never good. But honestly, the worst pain I experienced was from pepper spray. It felt like my eyes were on fire, and then someone put it out with kerosene, and that burning sensation lasted for twenty or thirty minutes. It was awful. I’m sure there are more serious injuries, but that experience is definitely one of the most painful I’ve ever had.

I’ve had some pretty bad injuries, but the concussions were the worst. I also fractured the bone around my left eye a couple of times – it actually popped out both times! Once it happened in the bathroom, and another time while I was with Chris Pontius. The doctors said I couldn’t sneeze for about six weeks after the fracture, which was tough because I have allergies. I was walking with Pontius, he told a joke, and I instinctively grabbed my nose… and it happened again! It didn’t pop out very far, maybe just a little past how Marty Feldman’s eyes looked.
