Johnny Wactor’s Family Reacts to Final Role One Year After His Death

Johnny Wactor’s legacy lives on in his family.

A year after I tragically lost my life following an encounter with a group of men attempting to break into my car after a fatal shooting as a star on “General Hospital”, my dear mother Scarlett Wactor and my brother Lance Wactor graced the premiere of my final film, “Ciao, Mama,” at the Dances with Films festival in Los Angeles on June 25.

Scarlett mentioned to Extra in an interview on June 25 that she put on waterproof mascara as a precaution. She was looking forward to hearing his voice and seeing him again. She found herself contemplating how he’d be today, envisioning him picking out an outfit and bouncing with excitement.

“I’m thrilled to be here,” she added. “I just wish he could be here.”

Meanwhile, Lance recalled the fervor that Johnny held for the film, in which he portrayed a sorrowful son attending his mother’s funeral. “This was his heart and soul,” Lance remarked. “He invested a great deal of effort into it.

Following the unexpected demise of Johnny in May 2024, it fell upon Lance to assist with finishing off the movie that was to be his brother’s last project.

It seems he’s been told that his speech is similar to his brother’s. As a result, he needed to record a few lines for the voiceover in certain scenes.

In the midst of our heart-wrenching odyssey following the tragic incident, it’s been revealed what fate has in store for those who had a hand in the heinous crime that took Johnny away from us forever. Come January, two of the men implicated in the burglary that ultimately claimed Johnny’s life were sentenced to prison.

22-year-old Frank Olano was handed a sentence of five years and eight months for his involvement as an accessory post-factum, receiving stolen goods, and three counts of illegal firearm possession by a convicted felon. On the other hand, 19-year-old Leonel Gutierrez was sentenced to four years in prison after entering a no contest plea for one count each of attempted robbery and grand theft, as confirmed by various news outlets.

18-year-olds Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada will face trial for murder and attempted second-degree robbery. As reported by authorities, one of these individuals fatally shot Johhny, aged 37, when he and his coworker encountered them as they were attempting to steal the catalytic converter from Johhny’s car after work at their bar. (The defendants, who could potentially spend the rest of their lives in prison, have pleaded not guilty to these charges.)

Nonetheless, the impact of Johnny continues to resonate powerfully, as Scarlett and Lance were met with thunderous applause at the premiere of his last movie. Moreover, Micah Joe Parker, his fellow actor, paused to deliver a touching eulogy in honor of their deceased comrade.

It’s quite extraordinary to look around now and see four of us instead of five, as Johnny has been a significant part of our journey for the past year,” he remarked, as reported by People. “I am aware that there are countless individuals here tonight who cherished Johnny. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know him, to collaborate with him, and even more so, to have created this film alongside him.
