Jon Gosselin is grateful for his health.
Former reality TV star John Gosselin, who appeared on Jon & Kate Plus 8, recently revealed he was diagnosed with a dangerous condition just weeks before his planned November 2025 wedding to Stephanie Lebo. He had blood clots that traveled to both of his lungs – a condition called bilateral pulmonary embolisms – meaning there was a clot on each side.
John, 48, told The Daily Mail that he first experienced intense pain in his legs. By the next day, the pain had spread to his shoulder. He woke up from a coughing fit and realized something was seriously wrong when he coughed up a blood clot, which he described as looking like silly putty.
The reality TV personality, who has eight children with his former wife Kate Gosselin, drove himself to the hospital after experiencing symptoms. An MRI scan later revealed his diagnosis.
He remembered Stephanie being absolutely terrified, and said his children, Hannah and Collin, both 21, were very upset when they heard the news. Fortunately, doctors were able to control the problem with medication.
He explained that he takes several medications, including heart and blood pressure medicine, aspirin, and a blood thinner called Eliquis, which helps prevent blood clots.
Jon is still haunted, however, by what could have been.
He said he was incredibly lucky to be alive. He explained that if he hadn’t gone out that night, he might have suffered a serious, even fatal, blood clot in his lungs while at home.

Jon experienced a health issue around the same time as his reality show co-star, Kate. In late September, Kate suffered a serious leg injury when she was accidentally hit by her dog while playing fetch.
During a TikTok Live, she explained that her boyfriend, Steve Neild, threw a ball, and her dog ran to get it incredibly fast. She described the dog’s speed as like ‘a concrete wall running at the speed of light,’ and she accidentally stepped in the wrong direction, according to People magazine.

She’s 50 years old and will require surgery and physical therapy for her injury. She won’t be able to put weight on the leg for about 82 days.
She shared a TikTok video on December 20th, excitedly announcing, “It’s walking day!” as she headed to a doctor’s appointment. She explained that a long-awaited moment had finally arrived and she was overjoyed.

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest by Piper Niven during a wrestling match in July 2025.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitments – implying after her divorce was finalized – she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, anticipating future use and wanting to avoid a poor appearance.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, which was also the year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, when she shared on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leads to women suffering in silence with something that affects a large part of the population.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t tweeted recently. Suki jokingly replied, explaining she’d been keeping quiet because she secretly injured herself six months ago – a tight pair of pants caused a hernia, and she was afraid to mention it.

In April 2025, the former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared that he was recovering from surgery to repair a nearly ruptured appendix.
I was really worried when Brian shared a video last week explaining he’d been having stomach pain. He ended up needing to go to the ER, and it turned out he had a perforated appendix – thankfully, it hadn’t fully burst, but it was really close. It was scary to hear, but he seemed to be handling it well.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

I was absolutely shocked and worried when I saw Racing Louisville’s midfielder go down just minutes into their game against Seattle Reign on September 14th. It happened at Lumen Field in Seattle, and it was a really scary moment for all of us watching.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then collapsed moments later as trainers were called to assess her condition.
After receiving initial medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from a childhood accident – he was hit by a cement truck at age 11 – continue to cause him problems now.
“It’s been awful,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience muscle spasms everywhere, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening condition—within the last year, actually.”
He acknowledged that pain is temporary, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t functioning perfectly.

A former contestant on The Bachelor recently went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He described having to crawl on his hands and knees due to the pain, which got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat, or even stand on one leg without falling. He said it felt like he’d had a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

I was so shocked to hear that my friend Gina Kirschenheiter’s ex-husband, Matt, had a heart attack back in March of 2025. Thankfully, he pulled through and is doing better now. It was a really scary time for everyone who knows them!

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted on social media to explain he’d actually gotten food poisoning and was starting to feel better.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. Brendan Rooney quickly helped her, evaluated her injuries, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.
The former Kim Possible star shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against surgery to remove it right now, but they’ll keep a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is still normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving. She shared how much she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that she realized how precious life is. “Seeing my life pass before me made me understand that you should hug your loved ones whenever you get the chance, because things can change so quickly,” she said.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing online comments about her “puffy” face during interviews, she was surprised to see doctors commenting, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her appearance that prompted her to realize she’d been getting steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. These injections, she learned, had caused the condition, something she wouldn’t have known about without the online attention. In a recent newsletter, Amy expressed relief that her form of Cushing syndrome is temporary and that she is otherwise healthy, calling it the best news she could have received.

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player was accidentally cut in the face by another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although these symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the hole in her heart and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed part of his face, forcing him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis on one side. He showed fans he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side, and that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat. Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away.
Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better. She described the situation as scary and unexpected, but reassured everyone that he would be completely fine and she was thankful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he suffered a severe headache one day and lost consciousness before he could even take an aspirin. He doesn’t remember the following 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, grew concerned and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
After surgery, twenty days later, on May 4th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show, describing the experience as feeling like ‘dying’.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembered only darkness, followed by light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Oh my god, I was absolutely devastated when I read Emilia Clarke’s essay. She filmed all those intense battle scenes in Game of Thrones while secretly battling for her life! It started with a terrible headache at the gym, and she described collapsing, being violently sick, and just knowing something was terribly wrong with her brain. Turns out, she had a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a stroke caused by bleeding around the brain, from a ruptured aneurysm. Can you imagine? She had immediate surgery, but the pain sounded unbearable. And then, while recovering, she started having trouble speaking, just muttering nonsense! Thankfully, that passed, and she was eventually discharged after a month. But it didn’t end there. A scan in 2013 showed the aneurysm had doubled in size, and she needed another surgery. She said she woke up screaming from the pain because the first attempt failed and she was bleeding badly. They literally had to open her skull! It’s just…so much. But the incredible thing is, she says she’s now at 100%! Honestly, she’s the strongest person ever, and reading her story just makes me admire her even more.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, credits her family with helping her through a difficult time. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, who quickly came to her support. She told TopMob News that everyone “came to my rescue.”
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. In addition to recovering from the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.
Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. “I’m doing great,” she shared. “I just had a little bit of motor skills that I had to work back on, but other than that, I was fine.”

Shailene Woodley struggled with serious health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and chronic stomach pain, leading to a confusing array of diagnoses. Determined to find answers, Woodley, who comes from a holistic health background and studies herbalism, sought help from both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This search for well-being lasted for ten years. She explained that the physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and ultimately, struggles with body image and a sense of self. Thankfully, after focusing on both her physical and mental health, Woodley has fully recovered and is now very healthy and happy.
