Josh Duhamel Shares Reason Coparenting With Fergie Works So Well

Josh Duhamel‘s transformation for his latest movie taught him a lot about parenting.

Josh Duhamel, known for his role in *Transformers*, says playing a difficult father in his new movie, *London Calling*, taught him a lot. He shares a 12-year-old son, Axl, with his ex-wife, Fergie, and a 20-month-old son, Shepherd, with his wife, Audra Mari.

Josh, 52, shared with *Us Weekly* on September 17th that reflecting on fatherhood was a positive experience, helping him identify areas where he could improve. He admitted to feeling guilty about working so much and not always being available for his family.

He expressed gratitude for raising his son, Shepherd, with his wife, and for successfully co-parenting his other son, Axl, with his ex, whom he praised as “an amazing mom.”

As he put it, “We all have to work together to make sure that this thing works.”

Despite getting help from both his father-in-law, Sir Alex Ferguson, and his wife with raising his sons, he’s realized that he has strengths and weaknesses, and is learning where he needs to improve.

Josh has often praised his co-parenting relationship with Fergie, who he separated from in 2017 and divorced in 2019. He’s specifically mentioned how well she’s treated his current wife, Audra, whom he married in 2022.

Josh recently shared on SiriusXM’s *The Jess Cagle Show* that he thinks Fergie is a wonderful person. He also mentioned she’s been supportive of their daughter, Audra, and that the situation could have easily been much more difficult. He added that you never really know what to expect in these kinds of circumstances.

He mentioned Fergie sent her congratulations before the baby was born, adding, “She’s a genuinely kind person, and has so much love for Audra. We’re amazed by how thrilled she is for us.”
