Jujutsu Kaisen Confirms a Surprise Winter 2026 Return Before Season 3

Even though the Jujutsu Kaisen manga finished over a year ago, there’s always something new for fans to enjoy. They’ve been eagerly awaiting season three since December 2023, and now it’s almost here! Winter 2026 will be a great time for Jujutsu Kaisen fans as the anime returns to cover the Culling Game arc – one of the most thrilling storylines in the series. According to a post by @WSJ_manga on X, Jujutsu Kaisen will be featured on the cover of the Winter 2026 issue of Jump GIGA magazine. Typically, this magazine comes out in December, though sometimes in January. If the usual schedule is followed, we can expect to see the special cover illustration before the premiere of Season 3.

Gege Akutami, the creator of the series, will create a new cover illustration for fans, likely showcasing popular characters, including those central to the Culling Game Arc. The series has only been featured in GIGA magazine four times, generally to coincide with anime or manga promotions. The last feature was in Summer 2024, near the manga’s ending. Fans always eagerly anticipate these GIGA covers and Akutami’s special artwork.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Feature Some of the Most Intense Fights So Far

The Jujutsu world has been forever changed by the devastating events of the Shibuya Incident, which tragically impacted both sorcerers and many innocent people due to Kenjaku’s schemes. With Satoru Gojo trapped, sorcerers were overwhelmed by Mahito and other powerful curses. Shortly after the Shibuya battle, Yuta Okkotsu, a highly skilled sorcerer and second-year at Jujutsu High, enters the main storyline. However, the season concludes with a shocking revelation: Yuta intends to kill Yuji Itadori, who is already struggling with the weight of all the lives lost because of Sukuna.

The trailer for Season 3 suggests a fierce showdown between the main characters, but the story is more complex than it appears. Before the central conflict, the season will show what happens after the devastating events in Shibuya, focusing on Itadori’s attempts to deal with the fallout and prepare for what’s coming. While both story arcs are action-packed, the battle royale organized by Kenjaku in the second-to-last arc promises some of the most exciting fights the series has ever seen.

The next season of the series will finally reveal Kenjaku’s terrifying plan and explain why he had to eliminate Satoru Gojo. We’ll see Yuta Okkotsu and Yuki Tsukumo team up with the other sorcerers, and a host of new characters—both friends and foes—will be introduced. All of this will build towards the series’ final story arc, as Ryomen Sukuna’s wicked scheme is unveiled, with the Culling Game playing a key role in setting things up.
