Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Returns With Special Art Ahead of Season 3 Premiere

The new season of Jujutsu Kaisen is almost here, and the creator is building excitement with a sneak peek at what’s to come! The season will begin the highly anticipated “Culling Game” arc from the original manga, and promises plenty of action and chaos for fans to enjoy. It’s set to premiere this month as part of the Winter 2026 anime lineup.

The first part of Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game is arriving soon, and the series creator, Gege Akutami, is building excitement with new artwork for the opening theme of the upcoming season. The art celebrates King GNU’s new song, “AIZO,” which will be featured in the third season, and features a preview of many key characters involved in the intense Culling Game arc. You can see the artwork below.

How to Watch Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Premiere

The first two episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game Part 1 will be available on Crunchyroll outside of Japan starting January 8th at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. These episodes will have Japanese audio with English subtitles and will be available in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia. Crunchyroll also plans to release an English dub of the new season, but a specific date hasn’t been announced yet.

The voice actors from the first two seasons—those whose characters made it through the Shibuya Incident—are back to play their roles. Joining the cast for the Culling Game arc are Kazuya Nakai as Kinji Hakari, Yuki Sakakihara as Kirara Hoshi, Tomokazu Sugita as Hiromi Higuruma, Satoshi Tsuruoka as Fumihiko Takaba, Yutaka Aoyama as Reggie Star, Neeko as Kogane, and Yoshiko Sakakibara as Tengen. More voice actors will be announced as the season progresses.

What Is the Culling Game in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Kenjaku’s ultimate plan began with the chaos of the Shibuya Incident, which unleashed a flood of Cursed Spirits. However, the core of his scheme is the Culling Game: a tournament bringing together these Spirits, as well as sorcerers he’s resurrected into new bodies. Simultaneously, the Shibuya Incident awakened new powers in other sorcerers, and they’ll all be forced to compete in this deadly tournament.

The Culling Game is shaping up to be the most unpredictable part of Jujutsu Kaisen yet. The arc will introduce many new characters – hinted at by the cover art – and while Yuji will still be involved, other fighters will take center stage. We won’t have to wait long to see everything unfold.
