Jujutsu Kaisen Finally Kicks Off Its Most Exciting Arc (And It’s Better Than Anticipated)

The latest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has begun the arc fans have been waiting for, and it’s exceeding expectations. Jujutsu Kaisen has established itself as a standout shonen series, starting with original ideas like Cursed Energy and Spirits, but growing into a much more complex story. It now includes political intrigue, ancient enemies, and a sinister plan orchestrated by Kenjaku over a thousand years ago. These interwoven elements have created a strong foundation, and Season 3 is finally bringing all of that preparation to life.

Kenjaku started planning the Culling Game over a thousand years ago, and we now know even Sukuna is involved. His ultimate goal is to evolve cursed existence by combining Tengen with every person in Japan. To do this, he needs a massive amount of cursed energy, and the Culling Game – which pits current and former sorcerers against each other – is designed to generate it. While the season has been hinting at this event, the latest episode has officially launched the game, and it’s already clear this arc will be more complex and impactful than anything we’ve seen before.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Finally Kicks Off the Culling Game

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 7, “Tokyo Colony No. 1,” Megumi and Yuji enter the titular colony, while Panda and Hakari are sent to the nearby Colony No. 2. Once inside, Megumi and Yuji are quickly separated and immediately come under attack. The episode reveals that sorcerers participating in the Culling Game are forced to abide by its rules, including the requirement to kill another sorcerer within 19 days. Those who aren’t physically strong are teaming up with others to increase their chances of survival.

Megumi quickly realizes the game features powerful figures from the past – ancient warriors and sorcerers who influenced history – meaning it’s a fight to the death. He also reveals his main goal is to find a way to free his sister, and he’s prepared to do whatever it takes, even eliminate other sorcerers. These details show just how serious this part of the story is. With the promise of thrilling battles involving many characters, and the constant threat of death, the emotional impact is very strong. This setup suggests the Culling Game arc in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 could be even better than the Shibuya Arc, and future story arcs might have a hard time topping the excitement of this season.
