Jujutsu Kaisen Highlights Its New Main Duo With Sequel’s First Volume

During the Jump Festa event, the cover of the first volume for the sequel manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, was revealed before the main Jujutsu Kaisen stage show. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo started releasing chapters on September 8, 2025, and continues the story of the original manga, taking place almost 70 years later. Gege Akutami writes the story, with Yuji Iwasaki providing the illustrations, and new chapters are released weekly. Currently, 13 chapters are available, enough to be collected in a single volume.

The official Jujutsu Kaisen X account just announced that the first volume of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will be released in Japan on January 5, 2026, a little before Season 3 begins on January 8th. The announcement came with the cover reveal, which features Yuka and Tsurugi, the Okkotsu siblings. This sequel is already captivating, and this volume promises to be the best way to experience the continuation of this popular dark shonen series.

The cover of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 1 showcases the Okkotsu siblings, a fitting image since their story is at the heart of this sequel. The relationship between Yuka and Tsurugi is key, and is mirrored by the alien twins, Maru and Cross, hinting at where the story is going. This first volume includes the first seven chapters of the manga and focuses on the Okkotsu siblings and their connection, all while exploring the growing tension between humans and the Simurians.

The first volume will finish with a surprising and emotional ending in chapter 7, which perfectly introduces the backstories of Maru and Cross – making it a great starting point for new readers. At the current rate, the manga should continue for several more months, giving us enough content for at least three volumes in total. The first volume of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is scheduled for release next year, but unfortunately, it will initially only be available in Japanese.
