Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! Just one year after Jujutsu Kaisen finished, creator Gege Akutami has returned with a new sequel series, illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo takes place 68 years after the Culling Game and focuses on Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. Despite the defeat of Ryomen Sukuna and Kenjaku, the world of Jujutsu isn’t truly at peace, and sorcerers continue to secretly protect people. The situation changes dramatically, however, when over 50,000 Simurians—an alien race—arrive in Japan seeking refuge.
Originally launched as a short series expected to last about six months and include only three volumes, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is now reaching its climax. The manga is roughly halfway through its story, and Chapter 15, featured on the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump on Manga Plus, signals the start of the final, decisive battle. After focusing on character development and introductions, the story is now entering a more intense phase, with a major conflict that will determine the fate of Japan.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is Currently Featuring Two Major Battles

Despite attempts at peace, talks between the two groups collapsed due to a crucial misunderstanding. Tensions were already high between the sorcerers and the Simurians when Yakumaru, a sorcerer, fatally shot Cross. This rash act created a debt the Jujutsu society couldn’t possibly repay. While the sorcerers desperately wanted to make amends after Cross was injured, they couldn’t agree to the Simurians’ demand that they stop eliminating cursed spirits – malicious entities that have always existed, preying on unsuspecting humans.
Japan faces an unusually high number of unexplained deaths and disappearances caused by supernatural creatures, which is why Jujutsu sorcerers exist – to combat these threats. However, with no sorcerer currently powerful enough to defeat Dabura, they’ve placed their hopes on Yuka Okkotsu. Their climactic battle begins in Chapter 15 as the story nears its conclusion. Simultaneously, Tsurigi and Maru are engaged in their own duel, each fighting to protect something precious. Tsurigi is aware of Yuka’s illness and desperately tries to prevent her death, doing everything in his power to give her just one more day of life.
Cross is fiercely determined to protect his people, and his current state has made him fully realize how serious things are. It’s hard to say who’s winning the fight, but both Cross and his opponent are clearly incredibly powerful and will likely have some surprises in store. In Chapter 15, Yuka did something unexpected by summoning Mahoraga using her Ten Shadows Style, then disappearing into the shadows. Despite Mahoraga being her most powerful ability, Dabura hasn’t shown any signs of struggling, suggesting he might be even stronger than people thought.
