Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga. Just a year after the original series concluded, a sequel manga surprised and delighted fans. Despite a controversial ending, Jujutsu Kaisen continued to grow in popularity, exceeding 150 million copies sold globally. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, set 68 years after the Culling Game with a new cast of characters, quickly became popular, as fans were excited to see a fresh story and Gege Akutami further developing the series’ world.
Watching the series unfold, it’s become clear that many characters from the original manga are exactly as we remember them. For example, Yuji Itadori’s powers have stopped him from aging. Now, as the story heads towards its ending, Yuji has made a surprising reappearance, seemingly to prepare us for the final showdown. The latest chapter, number 21, reveals that the characters are determined to end the cycle of curses – and if they succeed, it looks like sorcerers won’t be needed anymore.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is Closing All Doors For Future Sequels

If Yuji and Maru can achieve their goal of stopping cursed spirits from being born, the endless fighting will finally end. These curses have tormented the world for over a thousand years, causing immense suffering and countless deaths. As long as curses exist, this cycle of pain will continue – but Yuji and Maru hope to break it.
Maru has all the resources for his plan, but he still needs Yuji and Mahito’s abilities. If Maru succeeds in creating the world he envisions, the need for jujutsu sorcerers will disappear, and the characters will be free to live normal lives. This could finally give Yuji the ending he desires, though it might take decades to come true, given his unique ability to avoid aging and death.
The main story of Jujutsu Kaisen will likely end with the conclusion of the current arc, Modulo, which is expected in a few weeks. While a direct continuation of the main plot seems unlikely, there’s still a possibility the author, Gege Akutami, might create a side story or spin-off in the future. Given the series’ immense popularity, fans would undoubtedly welcome any new work from the creator.
