Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is All Set For Its Finale, So Here’s What You Need to Know

Just one year after the original series ended, creator Gege Akutami has returned with a sequel set 68 years after the events of the Culling Game. While Modulo focuses on a new cast of characters, it also reveals what happened to fan favorites like Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki. Illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is receiving high praise for both its story and stunning artwork. Initially planned as a short sequel lasting about six months and three volumes, the series debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and achieved one of the magazine’s most successful launches ever.

The first volume of the manga came out in Japan on January 5th, 2026, and quickly sold over 266,000 copies that month. Even without being available outside of Japan, it was the sixth best-selling manga of the month. Now, more than five months after it began, the story is nearing its end. The manga, Modulo, has clearly entered its final arc, building towards a conclusion.

Is There a Release Date For Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s Final Chapter?

The final release date for the manga is still unconfirmed, but it’s currently anticipated in March. The story could potentially continue for a couple more weeks if the author decides to expand it beyond the original plan. Currently, 21 chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are available on the official Manga Plus app. Before the ending, there are big things planned, including new color pages drawn by Iwasaki for the next three weeks.

There’s a good chance the manga series will get a color lead page in this month’s issue. This news comes from @WSJ_manga on X, a trusted source for updates on Shonen Jump series, including manga and anime. Plus, the second volume is scheduled to release on March 4th, 2026, and will feature nine chapters – an increase from the seven chapters in the first volume.

What to Expect From the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Finale

The manga moved into its final arc last December, kicking off the intense battles between the sorcerers and the Simurians. After peace talks failed, Dabura challenged the sorcerers to a fight, and Yuka Okkotsu stepped up to represent Earth. While the Jujutsu community hoped Yuji Itadori would help, he was nowhere to be found.

Tsurugi desperately tried to stop his friend Maru from leaving the planet, hoping to save his sister Yuka, who was willing to sacrifice herself. The recent battle between them, detailed in Chapter 21, ended sadly, and Yuka remains at risk. Adding to the unfolding events, Yuji Itadori has returned, demonstrating a massive increase in his power over the years.

I’ve been watching the situation unfold, and it seems Yuji doesn’t want to pick a side in this fight, but he’s decided to work with Maru. They’re both aiming to break the endless cycle of curses plaguing everyone. It’s clear Maru needs Yuji and Mahito to make his plan work. If they succeed, this could actually be the last major arc of the series – if all the curses are gone, there’s nothing left for the characters to fight! I’m also curious to see if the manga will finally reveal what’s going to happen with Yuji; he hasn’t aged since his battle with Sukuna, and I suspect that will be addressed.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is Shaping Up to Be a Better Finale Than The Original

For over a thousand years, curses have been a part of the world, especially in Japan, bringing immense suffering. While some people have the ability to fight these curses, most aren’t powerful enough to win every battle. Skilled sorcerers like Satoru Gojo and Yuta Okkotsu are exceptionally rare, and even with their incredible powers, they aren’t unbeatable.

With Ryomen Sukuna and Kenjaku defeated, the biggest threats were gone, but life didn’t return to normal. Sorcerers still faced regular battles against curses, as Japan continued to struggle with innocent people being attacked and killed by them. This cycle will continue as long as curses exist, and stronger, more dangerous curses—like Mahito, Jogo, and Dagon—will inevitably emerge.

I’m absolutely fascinated by Yuki Tsukumo! She was this incredibly powerful sorcerer who really wanted to end the endless fighting, but sadly, she passed away before she could figure out how. Luckily, she kept detailed notes in her diary, and somehow, those notes ended up with Yuji! It’s amazing to think that even decades after she’s gone, Yuki’s dream of a peaceful world might actually come true. It’s bittersweet, but so inspiring!
