Be warned: this article reveals details from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga! Just a year after the original story ended, creator Gege Akutami has launched a sequel called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. With art by Yuji Iwasaki, this new manga is set 68 years after the events of the Culling Game and features a fresh cast of characters facing new obstacles. It’s planned as a short series, lasting only six months, but excitement is already building. Following a strong start, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will be a major feature in the 2026 issues of Weekly Shonen Jump, kicking off the year with color pages in both the second and third issues, according to reliable source @WSJ_manga on X.
The artwork has been widely praised for its beautiful and emotional color pages. As the story becomes more gripping, it’s expected to draw even more readers with new illustrations by Iwasaki. The manga editor hinted that the sequel series might also receive a prominent cover spot in the third issue – a first for this series. While exact release dates are still to come, new issues of WSJ will begin launching in December of this year and continue into 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is Getting More Intense With Each Chapter

The story opens with the arrival of 50,000 Simurians – aliens possessing abilities similar to those of Jujutsu sorcerers – who seek refuge in Japan. This event was classified as a special grade threat, comparable to the danger posed by Ryomen Sukuna, the most powerful sorcerer ever known. Fortunately, the Simurians haven’t shown any hostility, leaving the Jujutsu world to focus on finding peaceful ways for everyone to live together.
With their significantly smaller population, Japan would be at a serious disadvantage in a war between sorcerers and Simurians. Fortunately, the Simurians are also seeking a peaceful resolution, as they need a new home after problems arose on their planet. Despite this, it’s proving difficult for the two groups to get along due to existing distrust. The manga currently has twelve chapters available, which have introduced the key characters and established the story’s central conflict.
The recent attack on Cross, a member of the Simurians, by a Jujutsu sorcerer strongly suggests a major conflict is brewing between the two groups. While it’s not certain if this will escalate into a full-scale war, the Simurians will undoubtedly seek retribution for Cross, who appears to be a significant figure to them. The chapter concludes with their leader, Dabura, looking devastated by Cross’s injuries, leaving fans eager to see how he’ll respond. New chapters are released every Sunday on the official Manga Plus app.
