Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga. The sequel manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, by Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki, finished in March 2026. It began publishing in September 2025 and was initially planned as a short sequel lasting about six months and three volumes. Despite becoming popular, the manga stayed on schedule, releasing its final volume on May 1st, 2026. The combined actions of Maru and Yuji Itadori lead to preparations for a peaceful future, even though things became difficult after Yakumaru fatally shot Cross. The battle between Dabura and Yuka ends without a clear winner because Maru intervenes and sends Dabura to Simuria to save Yuka. The manga ends on a cliffhanger, and the story isn’t fully resolved even in the final volume. The story hints that Dabura returns to Earth for Kyoko, but this reunion isn’t confirmed or shown. The final volume includes new artwork, character information, and afterwords from both Akutami and Iwasaki.
The anime adaptation of Modulo is likely to be announced soon after the conclusion of the main Jujutsu Kaisen story. Jujutsu Kaisen is currently finishing up its Culling Game arc, with the final battle against Ryomen Sukuna planned for the series’ final arc next year. Despite a full workload, MAPPA is making this anime a priority because of its huge popularity. Modulo itself is a shorter story – only 25 chapters long – so the anime will probably be a mini-series of around ten episodes. The promotional video suggests MAPPA intends to deliver a high-quality adaptation.
There’s no news yet about how MAPPA will animate the final part of the story, though many fans hope it will be released as a movie. While the anime adaptation from Modulo might take some time, fans can read the manga now on the Manga Plus app. We also anticipate news this year regarding the English release of the manga volumes, which will include bonus artwork and character details.
What’s Next For Jujutsu Kaisen?
Although the main storyline concluded in September 2024, the anime is still covering the Culling Game Arc. A fourth season is anticipated next year to continue this intense battle. After the Culling Game, the anime will move into the Final Arc, where the sorcerers prepare for a showdown with the main villain. Plus, a short anime series is highly likely following a promotional video for the final volume of Modulo. Beyond the main series, the Jujutsu Kaisen universe will expand with a new spin-off novel by popular horror writer Yumeaki Hirayama, which will be overseen by the original creator, Akutami. Even with the main story finished and no promise of more sequels, Jujutsu Kaisen is set to remain popular for years to come, thanks to new releases and exciting projects designed to keep fans engaged.
