Jujutsu Kaisen Reveals New Way to Beat Domain Expansion (But Only One Character Can Do It)

The anime Jujutsu Kaisen recently showed a potential method for overcoming a powerful technique called Domain Expansion, though currently only one character seems able to execute it. The series is currently exploring the climax of its sequel, which is set 80 years after the original story and reveals a world filled with Cursed Spirits. As new fighters are introduced, fans are beginning to understand just how much Cursed abilities have developed over the decades.

The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo focuses on Yuji Itadori and showcases how much stronger he’s become since the end of the first series. He’s now incredibly powerful, rivaling gods and other major characters from the original story. The story also introduces a new method for overcoming even the most powerful Domain Expansion techniques: simply prevent your opponent from activating theirs with quick action.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Reveals New Way to Beat Domain Expansion

Domain Expansion is considered the most powerful technique a Jujutsu Sorcerer can perform, and it automatically lands a hit. While incredibly strong, they can be overcome in a couple of ways: either by reacting faster and using your own Domain Expansion, or by shielding yourself with a simpler Domain to fight back. However, chapter 22 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo recently introduced a third method: simply prevent the opponent from activating their Domain Expansion in the first place.

This chapter brings Yuji face-to-face with Mahito, a previous enemy who was last seen trapped between life and death. While Mahito initially has the upper hand due to his ability to control their surroundings, Yuji manages to interrupt Mahito’s powerful attack. Just before Mahito can unleash it, Yuji swiftly cuts out his tongue and fingers, preventing the attack from activating.

Only Yuji Can Beat a Domain Expansion

After years of training since the original story ended, Yuji has become incredibly powerful. He’s become so skilled with Sukuna’s techniques that he can now use them at the same speed, and possibly even faster. We’ve seen that Mahito can activate his Domain Expansion in just half a second, but Yuji was able to interrupt it before it even began, proving he’s even quicker.

This is a completely new way to overcome Domain Expansion, something no one has ever seen before because it requires moving at incredible speed. Previously, powerful sorcerers like Gojo and Sukuna only countered Domain Expansions with their own, but Yuji has now broken that pattern by simply moving faster than anyone can react. This unique ability highlights just how much Yuji has grown and evolved since we first met him.
