Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen was exceptional, but the absence of Gojo Satoru was definitely felt. As the strongest sorcerer in the series, Gojo was a powerful force against curses and spirits. Knowing this, and recognizing that Kenjaku had been planning the Culling Game for centuries, his first act was to trap Gojo. Once Gojo was sealed away, the Culling Game began, and the other sorcerers quickly focused on one goal: rescuing him from the Prison Realm, as they knew he was their best chance of ending it.
The third episode of the season explained how to break the seal on Gojo. After it was determined that no existing methods could neutralize cursed energy, Hana Kurusu, known as Angel and a powerful, ancient sorcerer participating in the Culling Game, became the only hope. Her unique cursed technique allows her to completely eliminate other cursed energy, making her essential to freeing Gojo. Though her location was a mystery for much of the season, the second-to-last episode showed her finally appearing before the other sorcerers, and the finale included a small clue suggesting she might be willing to help lift the seal on the Prison Realm.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Finale Subtly Introduces the Key to Gojo’s Unsealing

The season 3 finale of Jujutsu Kaisen featured an incredible three-way fight, with Yuta ultimately winning and gaining crucial points. The episode also included several hints about what’s to come, most notably a reveal of Sukuna’s even more terrifying new appearance. However, amidst all the excitement, a quick scene of Angel carrying Megumi away might be easy to miss. This small moment subtly suggests that getting Angel to release the Prison Realm might not be as challenging as everyone thinks.
Even when Angel found Megumi unconscious near the end of the latest episode, she didn’t seem aggressive. The brief scene of her carrying him away doesn’t feel like a threat, but rather suggests she wants to assist him. If so, once Megumi wakes up, he might be able to persuade Angel to break the seal in the next season. However, things are probably more complicated, as Angel likely has her own agenda. The next season will likely start by finishing the fights hinted at this season, like Hakari versus Kashimo, and showing what Maki does in the Culling Game. Many fans believe Gojo will return by the end of Season 4 of Jujutsu Kaisen, though we still don’t know when the new season will be released, only that it’s been confirmed.
