The winter anime season of 2026 is starting strong with the return of popular series! The long-awaited third season of Jujutsu Kaisen has finally arrived, but its initial stream caused Crunchyroll to temporarily go offline due to high demand. Fans have been eagerly waiting since the second season’s cliffhanger ending in December 2023, and this new season promises to answer many questions. The season will be released in two parts, with details about the second half coming soon. It begins by showing the devastating consequences of the Shibuya Incident Arc and how it impacted Yuji.
While battling cursed spirits by drawing them into open areas, he surprisingly meets Yuta Okkotsu, a powerful second-year student at Jujutsu Tech High School – a sorcerer on par with Satoru Gojo. The first two episodes of the new season cover the Extermination Arc, and the story will then focus on Maki Zenin in the Perfect Extermination Arc, leading into the intense Culling Game. New episodes will be available weekly on Crunchyroll every Thursday, though it will take longer for the series to appear on Netflix. The anime’s official X account has announced the episode release schedule, which includes a planned mid-season delay.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Delay Its Episode 8

- Episodes 1 and 2: January 8th
- Episode 3: January 15th
- Episode 4: January 22nd
- Episode 5: January 29th
- Episode 6: February 5th
- Episode 7: February 12th
- Special Episode: February 19th
- Episode 8: February 26th
- Episode 9: March 5th
- Episode 10: March 12th
- Episode 11: March 19th
- Episode 12: March 26th
I’m so excited for the new season! We’re getting 12 episodes for the first part, but it’s going to end right in the middle of the Culling Game arc – which, by the way, is HUGE in the manga. It looks like they’re planning on covering the whole Culling Game in a second part, and that might have around the same number of episodes as the first. This season starts by showing what happened after the crazy Shibuya Incident, but things quickly take a turn for the worse when the villain’s real plan is revealed. It’s the second-to-last arc, meaning after they adapt the Shinjuku Showdown arc, the story will finally be complete!
