Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 to Host Early Premiere (But There’s a Catch)

The Fall 2025 season promises to be action-packed with a series of thrilling releases, including “Jujutsu Kaisen”, which has now added even more excitement to the lineup. Originally slated for 2026, “Jujutsu Kaisen” will have an early Season 3 premiere, much to the delight of fans who have eagerly anticipated an early release. However, it’s important to note that despite the early premiere, the official season is still scheduled to begin in 2026.

In summary, it appears that during a live stream today, Jujutsu Kaisen officially confirmed that Season 3 will be premiered in January 2026. Additionally, a Shibuya Arc compilation film has been announced, offering fans an opportunity to recap Season 2 and the thrilling battles from the Shibuya Incident. This upcoming film will also provide an exclusive sneak peek into Season 3, with the first two episodes of the Culling Game Arc set to be shown in theaters as early as this fall, not in 2026.

According to GKIDS, the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen compilation movie is titled “Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution,” a name that hints at Yuji’s upcoming execution by Yuta Okkotsu, who appears in Season 2’s finale. The film is set to premiere in Japan on November 7th and will reach North American theaters on December 5th, with GKIDS handling its distribution. Alongside the release details, a new poster for the movie has been released, showcasing the Culling Game Arc and highlighting Yuji and Yuta amidst snapshots from the Shibuya Arc.

To date, neither Toho Animation nor GKIDS have revealed specific release dates for regions outside of where they initially announced. However, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen can take comfort in knowing that the movie will eventually become available worldwide, as per Toho’s post advising everyone to keep an eye out for further information about the global release.

Since fans would’ve had to endure waiting until January for Season 3, having a special premiere with just two episodes is certainly welcome, despite the wait. However, the one-month gap between the Japanese and North American release can’t help but feel somewhat disappointing. Nonetheless, based on the latest trailer, it seems that Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen will continue to surpass expectations, offering plenty for fans to anticipate in terms of thrilling action as well as a compelling narrative.
