Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga finished in September 2024 after Ryomen Sukuna was defeated, leaving the world to prepare for future challenges. The ending was somewhat open-ended, with some mysteries remaining, as Sukuna’s final piece was sealed, hinting that the cycle of events might repeat. However, just a year later, Gege Akutami has returned with a sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, this new story is set decades after the Culling Game and follows a fresh cast of characters. It began on September 7th, 2025, and currently has eight chapters available. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is planned to be a brief sequel, lasting around three volumes and released weekly over six months.
A popular Jujutsu Kaisen source on X (formerly Twitter), @Go_Jover, has announced that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will begin releasing on January 5th, 2026. Initially, only the Japanese version will be available, with translations into other languages expected to take at least a year, possibly longer. The final chapters of the main Jujutsu Kaisen series (volumes 29 and 30) came out in December 2024, but English translations haven’t been released yet. Volume 29’s English version is planned for November 5th, while Volume 30 will arrive on February 17th, 2026. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is projected to have three volumes in total, though the story’s ending hasn’t been confirmed.
The Story in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Is Finally Taking Shape With Its Latest Chapters

I’m so excited about this new story! It’s set in 2086, and things are seriously intense. We’ve got 50,000 alien invaders called Simurians who’ve landed on Earth, and they’re considered as dangerous as Ryomen Sukuna – that’s a huge deal! What’s even wilder is that these Simurians can use jujutsu powers just like our sorcerers, which makes me wonder where they even come from. The jujutsu world is scrambling to prevent a full-blown war, but it’s not clear if the Simurians want peace at all. We get to see Yuka and Tsurugi, the grandkids of Yuta and Maki, all grown up and officially working as sorcerers, which is awesome! And get this – they team up with Maru, a Simurian who’s gone undercover as an inspector working with the sorcerers. Seriously, the plot thickens!
Even though only eight chapters are out, the story is moving forward consistently, showing us what’s happening in the world now and hinting at future events. We learn about the difficult future facing Yuka, and then the series begins to explore the sad past of Maru and his twin brother, Cross. The story will continue to unravel the complicated situation as both sides fight to survive. Plus, we might see more of the original characters, like Yuji Itadori, as the manga has confirmed he’s still alive in the present timeline.
