The anime series Jujutsu Kaisen is nearing the end of its sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, but it hasn’t revealed the fate of one important character. Modulo unexpectedly turned out to be a sequel set about 80 years after the original Jujutsu Kaisen, meaning all the characters fans loved have either retired or passed away by that point.
As Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo nears its conclusion – creator Gege Akutami hinted at this ending months ago – a significant question remains unanswered. With the story wrapping up and several characters reappearing, the lack of information about Megumi Fushiguro’s fate is becoming a major issue. The series needs to reveal whether he is still alive or not before it ends, especially considering the events of the sequel.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Still Hasn’t Brought Back Megumi
As a huge fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s wild to see the final arc unfolding! The story jumped ahead in time, and it’s been fascinating to get little glimpses of what happened to our favorite characters. We’ve learned that Yuta and Maki aged well and eventually passed away – the story now focuses on their grandchildren, which is a cool twist! Plus, it’s great to hear Aoi Todo is still kicking around, too. It’s been a bit sparse on updates for the original cast, but these little reveals are so exciting!
It’s been confirmed that Nobara Kugisaki survived the events of the sequel, but she also revealed that many of their friends have passed away. Yuji Itadori remains unchanged physically since the original story, due to the nature of his powers. This means he’s been watching his friends grow old and die while he continues to travel Japan, and he’s expected to live for a very long time. The identity of the third core member of the group, however, is still a mystery.
What Happened to Megumi After Jujutsu Kaisen’s Ending?

The main reason fans are waiting for news about Megumi in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is to find out what happened to him after the original series ended. With the introduction of Yuta and Maki’s grandchildren, and Yuta becoming the head of the Gojo clan after Satoru Gojo’s death (along with Maki eliminating the Zenin Clan), Megumi feels like a missing piece of the story. This is becoming more noticeable as the new series nears its conclusion without any information about his fate.
The continuation of Jujutsu Kaisen hasn’t focused much on its original characters, instead prioritizing a story about the future of the Jujutsu world. This approach has been a major point of contention among fans. Bringing Megumi back would help tie things together before the sequel finishes and make the story feel more satisfying.
