Julie Chrisley is noticing a change in Grayson Chrisley.
Recently, the 52-year-old responded to her son setting clear limits while filming the new reality show, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. This came after he wouldn’t reveal a private message from his mother during an interview.
In an interview with *Today* published on September 10th, she praised Grayson, saying she admired his ability to establish clear boundaries, which she feels is crucial.
As she put it, “I’m so glad and so proud of him for that.”
On the September 1st episode of their show, Julie and Todd Chrisley’s 19-year-old son wouldn’t play a recording of his mother’s voice that was hidden inside a stuffed bear she gave him before going to prison in 2023.
He told the documentary filmmakers he refused to listen to the recording, explaining that it felt like the only remaining piece of his personal life he had control over.
Grayson, only seven years old when his family’s show, *Chrisley Knows Best*, first aired in 2014, explained, “We show the cameras everything, but there’s one thing I won’t share.”
Julie and Todd Chrisley, along with their children Chase, 29, Savannah, 27, and Chloe, 12, have become more private since being released from prison in May after receiving pardons. They’ve scaled back their public reality TV personas.
As a long-time follower of Todd, I’ve really noticed a positive change in him. He recently shared with *TopMob News* that he finally has a much stronger sense of purpose and knows what he wants out of life. He also said he’s way less stressed about things that used to bother him, and honestly, he doesn’t even give a second thought to things that never should have mattered in the first place. It’s great to see him so much more at peace.
Indeed, the 56-year-old is far less concerned about the public’s perception of him and his family.

He explained that he’s stopped striving for perfection, and isn’t as concerned with others’ perceptions of him or his work. He feels much more at peace with himself now.
For a deeper look into the Chrisley family, keep reading…

Todd Chrisley is the head of the Chrisley family. Born in Georgia in April 1969 and raised in South Carolina, he has five children. His first daughter, Lindsie, was born in 1989, followed by his son Kyle in 1991. He and his first wife, Teresa Terry, later divorced. In 1996, Todd married Julie (born in South Carolina in January 1973), and together they had three more children: Chase, Savannah, and Grayson. They also adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe.
Before becoming known for reality television, Todd built a successful real estate business, which he said generated the majority of their income. Julie was working at a bank when she began dating Todd. The family gained fame with the show *Chrisley Knows Best*, which ran from 2014 to 2023 and documented their lives in Atlanta and Nashville. The show led to spin-offs like *Growing Up Chrisley* and *What’s Cooking With Julie?*, as well as podcasts for various family members.
In 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud and tax crimes and initially sentenced to 12 and 7 years in prison, respectively. They maintained their innocence. However, in May 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned them, leading to their release from prison.

Oh my gosh, Lindsie is just… everything! She was born in September 1989, the oldest daughter of Todd and Teresa. She went to Georgia State University, and that’s where she met Will Campbell, her now ex-husband. They got married in 2012, and that December she graduated AND had their sweet little Jackson! Then, two years later, *Chrisley Knows Best* premiered and we all fell in love with her! For five seasons, we watched her life unfold, and honestly, it was heartbreaking seeing the tension between her and Will. They divorced in 2016, and she left the show in 2017.
After that, things got so messy with her and her family, it was awful! It wasn’t until 2022 that we finally saw her, Todd, Julie, and Savannah together again on their podcasts, which was a huge relief. Todd even said on *Chrisley Confessions* that the estrangement was something they *needed*, which was… complicated. But sadly, that reunion didn’t last. By March 2025, on her podcast *The Southern Tea*, she admitted she hadn’t seen her dad in ages, and then a month later she confirmed she was also estranged from her siblings! She explained on *Cate & Ty Break It Down* that they just don’t fit in each other’s lives anymore, which is so sad to hear. But then, after Julie and Todd were pardoned in May 2025, she posted on Instagram, “With God all things are possible,” which gave me so much hope! I’m just rooting for them all to find their way back to each other, honestly.

Kyle, born in August 1991, is Todd’s oldest son from his marriage to Teresa. He became a father to Chloe in November 2012 with his ex-partner, Angela Johnson, but Todd and Julie later adopted her in 2016.
Although Kyle only appeared on the first season of *Chrisley Knows Best* (with a quick appearance in 2021), his past legal issues and complicated relationship with his family – which included periods of estrangement and reconciliation – often made news. He’s been open about his struggles with mental health and addiction, and announced on Facebook in 2019 that he was sober.
In 2021, Kyle married Ashley Nelson and became a stepfather to her children, Haiden and Mackenzie.
He hopes to rebuild his relationship with Todd and Julie after they are released from prison. In May 2025, he told TopMob News, “I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family, and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”

Chase Chrisley, born in June 1996, is the oldest child of Todd and Julie Chrisley. He’s known for appearing on the reality shows *Chrisley Knows Best* and *Growing Up Chrisley* alongside his family, particularly his sister Savannah from 2019 to 2022.
Chase previously had an on-again, off-again relationship with Emmy Medders, but they ultimately split in 2023. He later began dating Jodi Laine Fournerat, and frequently shares photos of her and his grandmother, Nanny Faye Chrisley, on Instagram.
Following his parents’ imprisonment, Chase spoke about how the experience brought him and his siblings closer together. He told *Extra* in 2023, “We’ve definitely gotten a lot closer…we’ve clung together and we’re still fighting.”
In January 2025, Chase was arrested in Atlanta on a simple battery charge after allegedly becoming intoxicated and slapping a bar manager. His lawyers stated the incident was exaggerated and that he did not assault anyone, and they planned to investigate the situation.
Beyond television, Chase is an entrepreneur, having launched both a candle brand and a roofing company.

Savannah Chrisley was born to Todd and Julie Chrisley in August 1997. She began her career in pageants, winning Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016 and competing for the national title. She then gained further recognition through reality television, appearing on shows like *Chrisley Knows Best*, *Growing Up Chrisley*, *The Masked Singer*, and *Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test*. Beyond television, Savannah works as a real estate agent in Tennessee, founded Good Girl RX, and hosts the *Unlocked* podcast.
Savannah became engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles in 2019, but they ended their relationship the following year. Tragically, Kerdiles passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2023. She later dated Robert Shiver, but they separated in April 2025 after approximately two years together.
While her parents were incarcerated, Savannah took legal custody of her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, and actively campaigned for their release. At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she emotionally shared that the numbers “72600019 and 72601019” represent her parents’ inmate identification numbers and hold deep personal meaning for her.
Following a pardon from Donald Trump, Todd and Julie were released from prison, and Savannah shared heartwarming footage of their return home, celebrating their reunion.

Grayson is the youngest child of Todd and Julie Chrisley. He became known to the public when the show *Chrisley Knows Best* first aired in 2014, just eight years after he was born in May 2006. He’s currently a student at the University of Alabama, where he’s often recognized by fellow students.
On Savannah’s podcast, *Unlocked*, in February 2025, Grayson described the attention he receives on campus as “insane,” saying it’s more than he’s ever experienced before.
When Julie and Todd went to prison, Savannah took legal custody of Grayson and her sister, Chloe. She openly shared her feelings about becoming a guardian, writing on Instagram in July 2023 that while she isn’t their parent, she’s proud to love and guide them. She described being a “bonus parent” as challenging, emphasizing that no one could replace their parents, but also expressing how much love and appreciation she receives from them, calling it the hardest but most rewarding job she’ll ever have.
Savannah and Grayson developed a particularly strong connection. On his 18th birthday in May 2024, she posted on Instagram that while many people believe she saved him, he actually saved her.

Chloe initially came into Todd and Julie Chrisley’s lives as the daughter of their son, Kyle, and his former partner, Angela Johnson, born in November 2012. They later officially adopted her in 2016. Julie expressed how much joy Chloe, nicknamed CoCo, brought to their family on social media, and fans watched them raise her on their reality show, *Chrisley Knows Best*. When Todd and Julie went to prison, their daughter Savannah stepped in as Chloe’s guardian.
Savannah often shares how much Chloe means to her, posting on Chloe’s 11th birthday in November 2023 about how much she admires Chloe’s personality and spirit, and how Chloe makes everyone around her a better person.
Following the announcement that Todd and Julie were being pardoned by President Trump, Savannah revealed that Chloe was cautiously optimistic, worried something might still go wrong. However, Savannah expressed her excitement about reuniting Todd with Chloe and bringing him home.

Oh my gosh, Nanny! Faye Chrisley, Todd’s mom, is just… everything! Seriously, Todd posted the sweetest thing on Instagram for Mother’s Day 2021. He said God knew exactly what He was doing when He made her *his* mom, and that he loves her more than words can say. It’s so true! She just fills your heart with everything good.
She was born way back in September 1944 in South Carolina, and she and her husband, Gene, a wonderful army veteran, had three boys: Todd, Randy, and little Derrick, who sadly passed away as a baby. Losing Gene in 2012 was so tough on her, but she always kept going.
Watching her on *Chrisley Knows Best* just makes my day. She’s hilarious! And seeing her with her sister, Frances, before she passed in 2022… it was just pure joy. She’s always been so fun, whether she’s at the casino, enjoying a glass of wine, or just surrounded by family. She really knows how to live life to the fullest!
But she’s also been through so much. Besides everything Todd and Julie went through, she battled bladder cancer in 2021! It was scary, but she’s a fighter! She announced in 2023 that she was in remission, thank goodness! She said it on Lindsie’s podcast, *The Southern Tea*, and I nearly cried with relief.
Honestly, she just embodies strength. She always says, ‘The world doesn’t always give you a good deck of cards, so you play with them the best you can.’ And that’s exactly what she does – she gets up, dusts herself off, and keeps going. She’s an inspiration, truly!
