Ever since Steven Spielberg’s 1993 sci-fi/adventure film “Jurassic Park” graced our screens, the Jurassic Universe has continued its expansion. The films are famous for their dinosaur-filled action and chaos. However, it takes more than just dino-centric turmoil to make a great “Jurassic Park” movie. Recently, TopMob had a chat with the cast of the upcoming installment, “Jurassic World Rebirth”, where they shared their thoughts on what makes these blockbusters exceptional.
In an exclusive chat before the premiere of “Jurassic World Rebirth”, Hannah Saulic from TopMob interviewed Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali. During this conversation, it was revealed that Johansson’s enthusiasm for the franchise, a factor that influenced Steven Spielberg in choosing her as Zora Bennett, is long-standing. In expressing her thoughts on what constitutes a great “Jurassic” film, Johansson offered some insightful perspectives.
Exceptional actors are indeed crucial, yet they cannot shine without a solid script to begin with. A strong narrative sets the foundation, followed by an outstanding cast, skillful cinematographer, captivating composer, precise editor, and a visionary director who brings it all together. The excitement, the cheesy humor, the chilling suspense, and the exhilarating sense of adventure are equally essential elements that elevate a production to greatness.
Everything the Oscar-nominated actress stated was accurate, and her fellow cast members also made some compelling arguments. Jonathan Bailey, portraying Dr. Henry Loomis in Rebirth, added that a spirit of adventure similar to that of the Goonies is essential for a successful Jurassic sequel. Moreover, Duncan Kincaid actor Mahershala Ali emphasized the importance of “well-executed deaths.” This perspective prompted the actress from Black Widow to express a shared viewpoint.
A bunch of people have to get eaten, too. So, yeah, there’s a lot that goes into the blender.

There’s One Jurassic World Rebirth Dinosaur I’m Especially Concerned About
Setting humor aside, it’s accurate to say that the stellar Jurassic Park films (available for streaming via Peacock) expertly blend grandeur, character development, and suspense. While the original film is renowned for its groundbreaking special effects, it’s equally praised for its compelling narrative that boasts complex characters portrayed by exceptional actors like Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sir Richard Attenborough. It’s no easy feat to surpass their captivating performances. The visually breathtaking scenes are just as memorable, such as the initial view of the brachiosaurus and the characters’ awe-inspiring encounter with the Tyrannosaurus rex.
In an effort to craft a film that encapsulated the finest aspects of the series, director Gareth Edwards of “Rebirth” fame gathered a charming cast and endeavored to deepen the mythology established in this dinosaur-ruled cinematic universe. The movie certainly includes some heart-pounding moments, such as a scene where a T. Rex pursues humans while swimming, which, if it doesn’t qualify as one of Scarlett Johansson’s “thrills,” I’m not sure what would.

Regarding the future of the Jurassic series, it’s likely that subsequent filmmakers will follow the principles set by the actors in Rebirth. It remains uncertain how they will expand on what has already been established while maintaining novelty. Just as life often finds a way, I am certain they will find a solution.
