Jurassic World Rebirth Beats Two of the Best Fantasy Movies Ever at the Box office

The earnings for Jurassic World Dominion aren’t slowing down just yet, as it continues to rake in over $800 million worldwide after being released only 40 days ago. This seventh installment of the Jurassic series has surpassed its July competitors, Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with earnings of $578 million and $434 million respectively. Proving yet again that dinosaurs reign supreme, it has even managed to make a dent in the top 100 highest-grossing films of all time in the US, leaving Middle Earth and the Wizarding World in its wake.

Although Jurassic World Rebirth has experienced a loss of approximately 1,600 theaters since its July 2 debut, it managed to earn an estimated $4.7 million over the weekend, increasing its domestic total to $326.8 million and its overseas total to $473.1 million, resulting in a global total of $799.9 million. In the meantime, Weapons dominated the box office with $42.5 million, outperforming fellow newcomer Freakier Friday, which earned $29 million.

Over the weekend, “Jurassic World: Rebirth” surpassed the domestic earnings of both “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (2001) and “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” (2001), which now rank at 99th and 97th, respectively, on the list of top 100 domestic films. Currently, “Jurassic World: Rebirth” stands at number 92, having outperformed other superhero movies like “Iron Man” (2008), “Deadpool 2” (2018), and “Suicide Squad” (2016). The only other films from 2025 to have made it onto this list are “A Minecraft Movie”, “Lilo & Stitch”, and “Superman”.

In 2015, the film “Jurassic World” breathed life back into the Jurassic Park series, and it remains the highest-grossing installment in the dinosaur franchise domestically with a total of $652.2 million. The sequel, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” released in 2018, earned $417.7 million in North America, barely edging out the original Jurassic Park’s $415.4 million. The final installment of the trilogy, “Jurassic World Dominion,” grossed $376.8 million initially but eventually surpassed a billion dollars. The upcoming film, titled “Rebirth,” is projected to finish its run with global earnings north of $800 million.

To date, it has earned the fourth highest box office revenue of the year, falling behind China’s “Ne Zha 2” ($2.2 billion), “Lilo & Stitch” from Hollywood ($1 billion), and “A Minecraft Movie” ($955.1 million).

In the film titled “Jurassic World Rebirth,” a secret retrieval squad composed of mercenary Zora Bennett, portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, boat captain Duncan Kincaid played by Mahershala Ali, and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, acted by Jonathan Bailey, embark on a perilous journey to Ile Saint-Hubert, an isolated research facility on Earth that houses dinosaurs deemed too dangerous for the initial Jurassic Park. Their objective is to gather DNA from three massive creatures in order to develop a drug with immense potential benefits for mankind. Alongside them, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ed Skrein, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda also take part in this thrilling adventure.

Jurassic World Rebirth is now available to rent or own digitally.
