Jurassic World Rebirth Deleted Scene Reveals a Velociraptor Sequence We Wish Hadn’t Been Cut

A recently uncovered deleted scene from Jurassic World Rebirth enhances the portrayal of the franchise’s famous velociraptors more effectively than the film’s initial release, making us regret that it was left out. Jurassic World Rebirth serves as the beginning of a fresh chapter for the Jurassic Park series, which started in 1993 with Steven Spielberg’s movie adaptation. On July 2, 2025, Jurassic World Rebirth hit theaters with Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, and others as the new team embarking on a mission to a dinosaur-infested island in search of DNA capable of curing human heart disease.

Following the successful rescue of the Delgado family, who had unintentionally ended up on Île Saint-Hubert, the exploration group encountered both the mutated Distortus Rex and a swarm of ravenous Mutadons at an abandoned InGen facility. This lengthy battle sequence might have also featured some of the franchise’s most legendary dinosaurs. A recently unveiled deleted scene suggests that the team and the Delgado family almost encountered a pack of velociraptors within the InGen facility, which would have been a thrilling nod to both the original Jurassic Park and Jurassic World series.

In 1993’s “Jurassic Park”, velociraptors were introduced for the first time, causing chaos on Isla Nublar once the park’s security systems failed. A memorable scene featured two of them chasing children Tim (played by Joseph Mazzello) and Lex (Ariana Richards) through a kitchen, while they also caused the deaths of Ray Arnold (Samuel L. Jackson), Robert Muldoon (Bob Peck), and the park’s original dinosaur handler. Velociraptors were prominently showcased in “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”, “Jurassic Park III”, and all three movies of the “Jurassic World” series, with a particular focus on “Blue”, who became Owen Grady’s (Chris Pratt) preferred velociraptor.

In the film Jurassic Park Rebirth, the role of the iconic dinosaurs from the original Jurassic Park series, such as velociraptors, was largely overshadowed by the introduction of genetically altered creatures. Early in the movie, Xavier (David Iacono) steps away for a restroom break, oblivious to a velociraptor lurking nearby. However, instead of engaging with the raptor, it is swiftly defeated and removed by a Mutadon, showcasing the power of this new creature. Unfortunately, this early encounter made the velociraptors appear weaker than ever, leaving viewers wishing for a more prominent role for them towards the end of the movie.

In Jurassic World: Dominion, a fresh take on velociraptors was showcased, a sight we would have enjoyed more intensely had a cut scene remained. This scene would have echoed the raptors’ look from the initial Jurassic Park film and Jurassic Park III of 2001, where the character Billy (played by Alessandro Nivola) was involved in a significant subplot about stealing velociraptor eggs. Regrettably, this updated design was hardly showcased on-screen, making it disappointing that this deleted scene wasn’t incorporated. Despite this, the film directed by Gareth Edwards has been a remarkable success.
