Jussie Smollett Removed From Special Forces Over Medical Issue

Another recruit has bit the dust—quit literally.

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it! Jussie Smollett was the *fourth* celebrity eliminated from *Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test*! I was totally watching the October 9th episode, and it was so sad to see him go. I was really rooting for him, honestly! It’s just… another one bites the dust, I guess. I’m obsessed with this show and I’m devastated!

On day three, the celebrities found themselves in a realistic war zone simulation. They had to search for and rescue ‘injured’ teammates while battling the harsh Moroccan desert heat, difficult landscapes, and simulated explosions.

The challenging exercise left most of the contestants on season four—including Gia Giudice, Kody Brown, Shawn Johnson, and her husband Andrew East—feeling very tired and weak after completing the difficult obstacle course. Despite this, Jussie was determined to keep going.

In a private moment, Jussie Smollett shared that his sister advised him he didn’t need to prove anything to anyone. However, he explained, he felt driven to prove it to himself – to demonstrate his own capabilities.

Jussie felt so sick during exercise that he almost threw up. He also developed a persistent cough that didn’t go away even after they returned to camp, and his fellow actors noticed he was having trouble breathing.

Concerned, Jessie James Decker asked him, “Are you okay, honey? If you need medical attention, please go get it.”

Jussie said he would quickly get a check-up, explaining he just needed to see the doctor for a moment.

Jussie tried to make light of his health, suggesting it was likely nothing serious, but Jessie expressed concern, saying it didn’t sound positive.

During an examination by Dr. Andy Brown, the lead physician for Special Forces, he listened to Jussie’s lungs with a stethoscope and said, “You have inflammation throughout your chest. Does it hurt when you cough?”

The 43-year-old confirmed it was painful.

While speaking privately, Jussie grew upset thinking about having to leave sooner than expected. He strongly stated, “I have a strength inside me,” adding, “I realize that now more than ever.”

Jussie was reportedly unwell, with Dr. Andy explaining he’d developed a dust allergy and noting his chest sounded very bad.

Based on Andy’s advice, the boot camp team had to deliver bad news to Jussie.

Andy said, “I understand you’re disappointed, but your breathing isn’t well enough for you to continue.” He explained he had to remove you from the competition for medical reasons.

Director Jason Fox noted the matter was “out of our hands” before taking Jussie’s armband.

The news brought Jussie to tears, and he later shared, “I’ve had chances to give up on things – and on myself – many times, but I’m not someone who easily quits.”

I’m so excited to see how the remaining contestants do on *Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test*! You can catch new episodes Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox. I’m definitely tuning in to find out which of the 14 celebrities still in the competition will make it through!
