Justin Bieber to Pay Scooter Braun $31.5 Million in Fallout

Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun have officially settled their scores.

Two years following the split between the “Baby” singer and his ex-manager, who is also the father of 10-month-old Jack Blues with Hailey Bieber, it has been reported that they have finally resolved their financial differences through a mutual agreement, as mentioned by various sources.

According to reliable sources, in their agreement, Bieber paid Braun $26 million, which was part of the money owed for the cancellation of his 2022 Justice tour. This payment was made following Bieber’s former manager and his company, HYBE, having initially covered the amount that Bieber and his team needed to pay back to AEG Presents, the touring company, due to the show cancellations.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that I learned Justin Bieber consented to shell out a whopping $5.5 million to cover the allegedly unpaid commissions he owed his ex-manager. This brings the total payout to a staggering $31.5 million, going to his former business partner.

TopMob News has contacted representatives for both Bieber and Braun concerning the agreement, however, we are still waiting for their response.

Approximately a month ago, I disclosed the current state of my previously very close relationship with Justin, whom I first discovered on YouTube during the late 2000s and had been closely involved in his career until 2023.

Braun acknowledged during an episode of the Diary of a CEO podcast in June, “Things aren’t as they used to be.” He had collaborated with someone extensively and achieved tremendous success together over time.

For some time, Bieber and Braun, who had previously managed artists like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato before retiring from the field in 2024, were mutually beneficial to each other’s careers. However, Braun eventually acknowledged that his client was eager to pursue new opportunities.

He expressed, “At some stage in life, a man may feel the need to prove his independence, and I fully understand and support that. From what I can see, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do now. And my former teammates and I are wholeheartedly cheering him on.

In terms of Bieber’s relationship with his ex-manager, he hasn’t explicitly stated his position. But some observant fans picked up on the fact that Bieber stopped following Braun on social media in January, which could be a hint at some change or distance between them.

Despite their current estrangement, Bieber continued to support Braun during his high-profile conflict with Taylor Swift over the purchase of her master recordings in 2019. This event prompted Swift to embark on her Taylor’s Version rerecording project, which she announced earlier this year after regaining ownership of her masters.

In 2019, Justin Bieber posted on Instagram saying, “Scooter has been supporting me ever since I gave him the chance to open for me. It’s not right for you to use social media to stir up hatred towards Scooter just because of our past.” (This sentence is a bit longer but maintains the original meaning and flow.)

In 2011, when Justin Bieber put out his debut holiday album and second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, he landed firmly on Santa’s Nice List. This LP not only ranked number one on the Billboard 200 chart, but it was also a first: the first Christmas album by a male artist to ever achieve this feat. Eventually, the RIAA certified it as Double Platinum for selling more than 2 million copies.

By mid-2013, Justin Bieber had taken the lead as the most-followed individual on Twitter from Lady Gaga. However, Katy Perry’s following would surpass his later in the year. Nevertheless, Bieber managed to regain his position and remains the most popular musician on Twitter. He ranks fifth among all users overall.

In the early 2010s, with the success of music concerts on screen, it was expected that Justin Bieber would also have his own. True enough, the movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never debuted in 2011 and set a new benchmark by having the highest opening weekend earnings for all documentaries ever made. Grossing $73 million just within the U.S., it was the top-grossing concert film until Taylor Swift’s movie The Eras Tour overtook it in 2023.

In the year 2013, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that “Baby,” a hit single from Justin Bieber’s debut album My World 2.0, had become the all-time highest certified song at 12x Platinum. This achievement was made possible by the inclusion of streaming data for the first time, allowing it to surpass Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind 1997,” which held a certification of 11x Platinum. However, another song featuring Bieber eventually took its place at the top spot; we’ll discuss that shortly.

Back in 2015, when “What Do You Mean?” from Bieber’s fourth album Purpose took over the Billboard Hot 100, it was nothing short of euphoria for me as a die-hard fan! This chart-topping hit was not just his first No.1 single, but at only 21 years old, he became the youngest male artist ever to debut a song at the summit of that prestigious chart with this tropical house bop!

Two years following a somewhat tough stint as the host of Saturday Night Live, Bieber became the target of humor when he served as the guest of honor at a Comedy Central Roast in 2015. The youngest celebrity to be roasted on this special event, he managed to draw high ratings. The broadcast ranks third in terms of viewership, trailing only behind those of Jeff Foxworthy in 2003 and Charlie Sheen in 2011.

In 2017, Justin Bieber joined a remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s hit song “Despacito.” This collaboration helped the track reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the first primarily Spanish-language song to achieve this feat in over two decades since Los del Rio’s “Macarena” in 1996. The song stayed at the top of the chart for 16 weeks, equaling the record set by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men with their song “One Sweet Day.” However, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” would later break this record in 2019. “Despacito” was also the first Latin song to receive a diamond certification from the RIAA, eventually surpassing “Baby” as the highest-certified single of all time in the U.S.

Despacito” also contributed to Bieber setting another record for himself. A week after his collaboration with DJ Khaled, “I’m the One,” hit the top of the charts, “Despacito” followed suit. This made him the first artist to achieve new number one hits in consecutive weeks. According to the RIAA, the track has sold more than 13 million copies.

In 2019, Justin Bieber expanded beyond entertainment and established his clothing line, Drew House, in collaboration with his friend Ryan Good and designer Gianpiero D’Alessandro. The product range encompassed t-shirts, hats, coats, and stickers, all featuring a yellow smiley face logo or the word “drew.” However, Bieber parted ways with the brand in 2025, opting to launch Skylrk instead.

In January 2020, Justin Bieber launched a 10-part documentary series on YouTube called “Justin Bieber: Seasons.” The debut episode set a new all-time high for the most viewed premiere in its first week with over 32 million views. This documentary provided an intimate and detailed account of the artist’s struggles with physical health, mental issues, and drug addiction. Not only did Bieber appear in the series, but he also served as one of its executive producers.

In early 2020, Justin Bieber’s fifth studio album, “Changes,” made its debut and took the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Including remix albums like “Never Say Never: The Remixes” and “Believe Acoustic,” this LP became Bieber’s seventh number-one album in his career. This achievement made him the youngest solo artist in the U.S. to ever have seven number-one albums. Later, “Justice” spent two weeks at No. 1, surpassing his previous record.

Without a doubt, we’d wager that if you asked Bieber directly, none of his accomplishments over the past decade compare to his relationship with Hailey Baldwin. After a series of on-again, off-again relationships with Selena Gomez, he started dating the model in 2015. However, they separated in 2016, and for a while, Bieber and Gomez tried to reignite their romance. Yet, Bieber and Baldwin reconnected in May 2018 and became engaged shortly thereafter. They had a civil ceremony in September of that year, and a year later, they held an elaborate wedding.

In a chat with Zane Lowe from Apple Music back in February 2020, he expressed, “I have the most wonderful wife anyone could ask for. She stands by me during tough times. I feel incredibly fortunate to be her husband.

And in 2024, two became three when the couple welcomed their son Jack Blues

In simpler terms, Justin Bieber’s latest album titled “Justice” ranked number one in ten different countries, making it his eighth number one album overall. At the tender age of 27, he is now the youngest solo artist to reach eight number one albums in the U.S. This isn’t all – with the release of “Peaches,” Bieber became the first solo male artist ever to occupy both the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts at the same time.

In an appearance on “The Zach Sang Show”, Bieber expressed that the purpose of his new album is to motivate, elevate spirits, and bring joy during these trying times. This sentiment has struck a chord with listeners all around.
