RS34 announced that their shoot ’em up game, Karous, will be available on Steam starting January 22nd. Players will be able to choose between English and Japanese language settings.
The game first became available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in Japan on November 27, 2025. A version for PC was already in development.

Karous lost her parents in a war between people who lived in the sky and those on Earth. Following her father’s last words, she travels down to Earth, searching for something called the Sanguis Dei. Her journey will be filled with both discoveries and sacrifices.

Every Attack Makes You Stronger
You can choose between a Shot, a Sword, and a Shield. Using these weapons more often will make them stronger. Feel free to switch between them to find what works best for each level.
Low Skill Floor, High Skill Ceiling
Karous’s easy mode is known for being very beginner-friendly, making it a great way for new players to experience the excitement of the game.
Karous has something for everyone! Normal mode is enjoyable and offers a good level of challenge, while hard mode is for players who want a real test of skill and aim to become experts.
Compelling Depth
In Karous, players have several ways to overcome challenges. When facing enemy fire, you can become temporarily invincible, block the bullets with your shield, or destroy them with either shooting or sword attacks. While dodging is useful, it’s rarely the only way to survive.

Since it first came out in 2006, Karous has become a popular game, enjoyed by players in arcades and on home consoles.
The campaign to fund this game’s remaster was incredibly successful, exceeding its original goal by 300% and unlocking all planned bonus features.

Plus, you can choose to listen to either the original, highly praised music or a brand new remix created by Shinji Hosoe and Ayako Saso (SuperSweep), alongside the original composer Daisuke Nagata (RS34).
