Kate Beckinsale is mourning a tremendous loss.

Actress who played in ‘Pearl Harbor’ shared the sad news of her mother, Judy Loe’s passing on July 15, after a long fight against stage 4 cancer. She was 78 years old.

Kate explained, “I’m reluctant to share these photos, but since I need to submit my mother’s death certificate and they’ll eventually be made public, I felt compelled to post them on Instagram today. My mother passed away the night of July 15th in my arms, after enduring unbearable pain.

The individual expressed, “I haven’t selected the finest photos and videos yet as I’m still not ready to sift through my camera roll. I sincerely regret that some of her friends may find out this way, either directly or indirectly via the media, but I just can’t go through her phone.

In July 2024, Kate initially announced her mother’s cancer diagnosis on Instagram. Later on, she expressed that she is left speechless and immobilized by her mom’s passing, as her mother was not only a loving family member but also a talented actress.

She penned that Jude served as a guiding force in her life, was the object of her deepest affection, and was her most cherished friend. The immense kindness and large spirit of this small individual have left an indelible impact on countless people who hold her dear.

Kate commented, “In countless instances, she’s shown great courage, often forgiving excessively, maintaining faith in humanity and goodness even in the darkest of times. Her absence makes it almost unbearable to imagine a world without her light.

Following the demise of Kate’s stepfather, Roy Battersby, who passed away in January 2024 at the age of 87 following a short illness, Kate’s mother has now also passed away. Earlier this year, the actress wrote an emotional tribute to mark the first anniversary of Roy’s death, reflecting on how she dealt with losing two significant male figures in her life.

Kate shared on Instagram in January that discovering her father’s lifeless body all by herself at midnight when she was just five years old significantly impacted her life. A year ago today, she witnessed the death of her cherished stepfather, an event that will forever linger in her mind. It feels incredibly unfortunate that I was present for both deaths and couldn’t prevent either of them, especially the second time when I gave everything I had to try. However, it wasn’t enough.

I’ve been hit hard by two significant losses this year – first, my beloved stepfather Roy Battersby, who passed away at 87 after a short spell of illness in January 2024. Just when I thought I was navigating the grief, I received the heart-wrenching news about my mother’s demise. In a tribute penned earlier this year to mark the first anniversary of Roy’s passing, I shared my journey coping with the absence of these two father figures in my life.

In her Instagram post in January, Kate expressed that discovering her father’s lifeless body by herself in the middle of the night at age five profoundly impacted her life. She also shared that witnessing the death of her beloved stepfather a year ago still lingers in her memory, and she feels unfortunate for being there yet unable to prevent either event from happening. Despite giving everything she had the second time around, it wasn’t enough to save him.

She remarked about Roy, saying, “I feel incredibly fortunate to have been brought up by a person who firmly understood right from wrong and consistently lived by those principles.” Additionally, she mentioned, “And most importantly, he cared for me deeply.
