Kate Gosselin Confirms Relationship With Former Bodyguard Steve Neild

Kate Gosselin isn’t hiding anymore. 

More than 15 years after her divorce from Jon Gosselin, Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin has revealed she is dating Steve Neild, who used to work as the family’s bodyguard.

Kate shared a video on Instagram on November 8th featuring ten things she loves. Among them were two photos of her with Steve, which she labeled “My boyfriend” with a heart-eyes emoji.

Just two months after Jon Gosselin publicly acknowledged rumors about their relationship, his ex-wife Kate, age 50, has confirmed she is dating the man who used to provide security for the family between 2008 and 2014.

Jon shared a Page Six article about the relationship on Instagram, along with a message saying, “I told you so! No one believed me, but I was right!” He has since deleted the post.

Jon, who has twins Mady and Cara (both 25) and sextuplets Alexis, Joel, Leah, Aadan, Hannah, and Collin (all 21) with his ex-wife Kate, claims Kate’s relationship with Steve led to their divorce in 2009, pointedly asking, “Who was really responsible for ending the marriage?”

I’ve been following the story closely, and it’s not just Kate’s ex who’s raised concerns about her relationship with Steve. Collin, Kate’s brother, actually spoke out recently too. He’s had a difficult relationship with their mother and some of his siblings for a while now, and he’s claimed Kate hasn’t been completely honest about how things developed with Steve. Collin shared on Instagram that he’s deeply hurt by the fact that his mother had an affair with their bodyguard in 2009. He explained that during family vacations, she would share hotel rooms with him while Collin stayed in the next room. He’s upset that people now seem to view this as a romantic story.

I’ve been following this story closely, and it’s been tough to watch. TopMob News tried reaching out to Kate for a statement on these cheating rumors, but she didn’t respond. However, I remember her previously calling similar accusations about her and Steve absolutely awful – she used words like ‘disgusting,’ ‘unthinkable,’ and ‘unfathomable’ to describe them. It’s just really sad to see all of this unfolding.

In May 2009, just before she announced her divorce from Jon, Kate told People magazine that Steve and his family were incredibly supportive. She explained that they genuinely wanted the best for her and were always there for her. She also noted that because difficult situations often lead you to rely on a smaller group of people, Steve and his family had become close to them, even joining them on vacations and traveling with them.

Kate also explained that it’s common to build friendships with the people you work with, like your manager, publicist, or security team.

The mother of eight revealed in early September that she’d been seeing someone for more than a year. Later that month, she unintentionally shared her boyfriend’s name during a TikTok Live stream.

I was watching Kate’s livestream from the hospital after her knee surgery, and it was so funny! She was talking to someone off-camera and accidentally called him “Steve.” Her reaction was priceless – she immediately widened her eyes and said, “Oops, I knew that was gonna happen. Whatever.
