On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, the eagerly anticipated six-part drama, penned jointly by Mike Walden (of Marcella fame) and Adam Randall (known for Slow Horses), will officially debut. This captivating series has been highly praised as “compelling” by Channel 4.

The news broke simultaneously with an engaging preview of the upcoming series, revealing the character of Jo Conran played by Kelly, who is both a flight attendant and a single mom. Her son has been incarcerated in Bulgaria following a brawl at a bar that ended fatally for another person.

In the show, we witness Jo getting accosted by Stuart Martin, portraying Cormac from Miss Scarlet and The Duke. He is a criminal mastermind, coercing Jo to transport illicit substances to save her child’s life. Additionally, Jo’s former partner, Dom Delaney, played by Ashley Thomas from Top Boy, is introduced as a customs officer.

In a bid to find help, she reaches out to her former partner, Dom. Regardless of how distant Jo’s life becomes from its previous state, her ultimate goal remains unchanged: ensuring the safety of her child.

In Flight unfolds against the bustling, tense environment of global aviation, as Jo tirelessly strives to safeguard her loved ones amidst a treacherous web of crime.

In addition, the cast of this series features actors such as Bronagh Waugh, Harry Cadby, Corinna Brown, and Ambreen Razia. The show is set in various locations around the world, including Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul, and London.

Previously, creators Walden and Randall described the series as their interpretation of the noir genre, a blend of high-stakes, fashionable, romantic suspense featuring memorable characters and pulse-pounding action.

Our tale finds the ideal residence at Channel 4, and we’re thrilled to be working alongside such a talented group. The character of Jo is particularly dear to us. She represents an everyday woman grappling with extraordinary challenges. We eagerly anticipate introducing her to viewers.
