Channel 4 recently revealed a sneak peek of its upcoming crime series titled “In Flight,” featuring Katherine Kelly in the role of flight attendant Jo Conran. A twist of fate occurs when Jo is coerced into illicit drug trafficking, disrupting her life.
The show “In Flight” is portrayed as an intense collection of episodes, unfolding amidst the global context of air travel. It traverses through the cities of Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul, and London.
The crime series was initially unveiled in November, featuring Stuart Martin from Rebel Moon in a prominent role within a criminal group, while Ashley Thomas from Top Boy takes on the part of Jo’s former partner.
Besides the main actors, we have Bronagh Waugh (from The Stolen Girl), Harry Cadby (known for Everything Now), Corinna Brown (famous from Heartstopper) and Ambreen Razia (starring in Scrapper) joining our team.
Composed by Mike Walden (under the pen name Marcella) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses), In Flight is about a mother’s relentless mission to shield her family, finding herself embroiled in a treacherous criminal network when her son is wrongfully incarcerated for a murder he claims innocence of, in Bulgaria.
Our protagonist, Jo, is drawn into a shady world of corruption and assassins. Caught between a rock and a hard place, she must obey their commands while simultaneously searching for a means to escape. In her quest for freedom, she reaches out to her former partner, Dom. Yet, no matter how distant she gets from her past, the goal remains constant: ensuring her child’s survival.
According to creators Walden and Randall, “In Flight” is their take on the crime drama genre, offering an intense, fashionable, romantic, suspenseful story filled with memorable characters and pulse-pounding action.
We feel Channel 4 is the ideal place for our tale, and we’re thrilled to be working alongside this exceptional group. The character of Jo is particularly dear to us. She is a typical woman grappling with extraordinary challenges. We can hardly wait for viewers to get acquainted with her!
