The Slaton family are mourning the loss of a loved one.
Katie Slaton, who is related to Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton, the prominent figures in the TV show ‘1000-Lb. Sisters,’ has passed away after a long fight against stage 4 cancer. This information was confirmed by their sister Amanda Halterman. Sadly, Katie was only 37 years old.
Amanda shared on Instagram, August 26, with deep sadness in her heart and soul: ‘I’m compelled to post this today.’ Her dear little cousin passed away yesterday, going to rest at Jesus’ feet. She was an extraordinary individual who radiated love that was open-hearted and selfless. She was the spirit of every gathering and my dearest friend.
Amanda went on to say, “Both our grandparents and friends were waiting to welcome you back home. I kindly ask that you offer a prayer for everyone who cares about her. My heartfelt thanks go out to each one of you who attended in support.
The online tribute for Katie stated that she delighted in fishing, listening to music, and spending time with her loved ones.
According to the published notice (obituary), she is left behind by her parents Jerry Slaton and Frances Slaton, her partner Natalie Bailie, as well as children Landon, Liam, and Lily. Furthermore, she leaves behind a large extended family consisting of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Katie, frequently seen with her cousins in the TLC series, was reported by People magazine at the start of the year to have been diagnosed with stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma, a less common type of stomach cancer.
In February, Katie’s partner Natalie posted on Facebook about Katie beginning chemotherapy. Her health situation regarding the cancer appeared to be showing signs of improvement.
Natalie remarked, “Our families have been wonderful throughout this entire ordeal. We wouldn’t have made it without your help! A big thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers! #Katiestrong

Amanda, along with her partner Leonard Moore, created a GoFundMe campaign for Katie shortly after her diagnosis. On this platform, they occasionally provided updates about Katie’s health condition.
Amanda put it this way: “It’s not merely about donations, it’s about expressing affection, compassion, and optimism for someone facing a difficult situation at present. A GoFundMe account has been established to cover Katie’s medical costs and offer support during these challenging times. Whether you can contribute a little or help spread the word by sharing her story, every effort counts immensely.
She noted, ‘Katie is tenacious, and together with you, we can ensure she receives the necessary support and affection.’
