Katy Perry was wide awake during this scary concert moment.
During the Detroit stop of her Lifetimes Tour on August 3, 2011, singer Katy Perry paused her performance when a girl named McKenna fainted while Katy was singing “The One That Got Away.
Videos posted on social media show that Katy noticed a fan high up in the rafters at Little Caesars Arena. When McKenna and her friend approached the stage, they were warmly welcomed with a heartfelt hug from the excited fan.
But when Katy was preparing to start the song, McKenna collapsed.
In response, the singer of “Teenage Dream” quickly knelt next to her and didn’t leave her side until medical assistance arrived. At the same time, the audience began to cheer for McKenna in solidarity.
Once McKenna was taken from the stage, Katy pulled the other fans in stage into a group hug.
The renowned figure expressed a prayer on social media videos, saying ‘Dear God, we hope McKenna recovers completely, shining even more brightly and stronger than before.’ Amen.
Later on, she added, ‘It’s really a lot,’ reflecting on your courage to perform on stage. ‘I know how overpowering it can feel.’
Toward the latter part of the performance, as she soared above the audience on a large butterfly prop, Katy casually mentioned an update about McKenna’s progress: “By the way, McKenna is doing really well.
Indeed, it’s important to note that the incident during Katy’s Lifetimes Tour wasn’t an isolated event. In fact, merely a month ago, she had a close call with the butterfly prop in mid-flight, narrowly avoiding a fall.
On July 19th, she unexpectedly halted her performance of “Roar” as a prop hanging above the audience appeared to accidentally drop a few feet, possibly because of a problem with the wiring.
With a fearful expression etched across her face, the “Firework” performer clung tightly to the butterfly for balance as it swayed from side to side due to the abrupt motion. However, once it appeared more settled, she lifted her hand to indicate all was well and elegantly carried on singing the remainder of the song.
After some time had passed, the 40-year-old woman humorously posted a close-up photo of her shocked expression from her Instagram Stories, with the message, “Goodnight San Francisco.
Recently concluding the Australian stretch of my tour, I found myself becoming noticeably emotional on stage. This was just a few days after announcing the end of my relationship with Orlando Bloom, the father of our 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
She expressed her gratitude, saying, “You’ve always been there for me, Australia,” during her performance in Adelaide on June 30. “It feels like the whole world to me,” she added, touching her heart.
Given that the performance should never stop, she collected her thoughts and exclaimed, “It’s time for ‘Firework!’ Let’s sing it now!

During his final rendition of “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” at the North Dakota State Fair in 2025, the American Idol judge encountered an unexpected incident involving a thrown object. Remarkably, the musician handled it gracefully, completing the song flawlessly without any disruption in rhythm.
As one fan noted, “Carried on like a champ.”
During their 2023 tour in California, a member of the Jonas Brothers band requested assistance (S.O.S) from the audience and asked them to cease tossing items onto the stage, as two bracelets nearly struck him after being thrown by fans.
It appears there was some misunderstanding; Cardi B doesn’t appreciate being splashed with drinks during her performances. During a show at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas, July 2023, a spectator from the front row accidentally spilled their drink on Cardi, prompting her to throw her microphone in response.
Following the concert, an unidentified woman reported an incident of battery to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department the next day. However, no arrests or citations have been made yet. In August 2023, Cardi’s lawyers confirmed that the police informed them no charges would be filed against her.
Baby, Bebe Rexha, will undoubtedly have an extraordinary night, regardless of the circumstances. After getting hit in the face by a phone thrown by an audience member during her June 2023 NYC show, she posted a picture of her injured eye on social media with the caption “I’m good.”
Lawyer Todd A Spodek, representing Nicolas Malvagna, who was arrested and charged with assault, told TMZ that Malvagna, as a fan, only intended to get photos with Bebe Rexha using his phone as a keepsake; he never meant to cause her injury.
During a concert in Idaho in June 2023, Kelsea Ballerini wasn’t particularly amused when someone threw jewelry onto the stage. She shared on her Instagram Stories later that a bracelet was thrown at her and it hit her in the eyes. It startled her more than causing any pain.
Listen, she isn’t particularly nice. Ava Max had some strong words for the man who attacked her during a performance in Los Angeles in June 2023. According to her tweet, he hit her so hard that he scratched the inside of her eye. She made it clear that he will never be allowed at one of her shows again.
In simpler, more conversational terms:
At the British Summer Time Festival in 2023, Pink was quite taken aback when a fan handed her a wheel of Brie while she was performing. She exclaimed, “What the heck!”, and expressed her desire to kiss the person who gave it to her. However, the next day at the same event, another fan threw a bag of ashes at her. Pink questioned, “Is this your mom?”, expressing confusion about the situation.
It seems like Harry Styles experienced an unusual incident during his Love on Tour concerts, such as being hit by several flying objects, even a handful of Skittles at a 2022 show in Los Angeles. Later, the Skittles brand’s representative took to Twitter to advise fans not to throw Skittles.
At a February 2022 concert, as Billie Eilish was performing “Lost Cause”, a fan threw a pair of fake breasts at her. However, demonstrating her coolness under pressure, the seven-time Grammy winner effortlessly tossed them back to the audience and continued with her performance.
Friends, let me clarify. During his 2022 Rolling Loud performance, Kid Cudi warned the crowd, “If you keep throwing things on stage, I’m leaving.” Unfortunately, moments later, an item was thrown at him again. Consequently, true to his word, he decided to leave the stage.
Fans of Ariana Grande were left with a bitter taste after a lemon hit her during her Coachella performance in 2019. Despite not appearing thrilled about it, she handled the situation gracefully, tossing aside the fruit and addressing the audience, “Someone threw a lemon at me, really?
