Keanu Reeves is fighting to save his career in Apple TV’s upcoming movie Outcome.
Keanu Reeves has had a long and successful career. He first became well-known for his comedic role in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, then proved himself as an action star in films like Point Break and Speed. However, he’s arguably most famous for playing Neo in The Matrix trilogy.
Apple TV has unveiled the trailer for Jonah Hill’s upcoming film, Outcome. The movie features a renowned cast, including Keanu Reeves as an actor facing a scandal and trying to revive his career. Alongside Reeves and Hill, the film stars Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Martin Scorsese, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Welker White, Kaia Gerber, and Ivy Wolk. Outcome will premiere on Apple TV on April 10th.
Outcome is a darkly humorous film about Reef Hawk, a famous actor played by Reeves, who is blackmailed with a damaging video. To save his reputation and career, he’s forced to confront his personal struggles.
Reef, with help from his close friends Kyle and Xander, and his lawyer Ira, sets out on a personal quest to right his past wrongs and uncover who is trying to blackmail him.
Hill, who co-wrote and directed the film, offers a fresh perspective on Reef’s journey – a deeply personal and moving trip to the past. Facing his history may be the only way for Reef to move forward.
Hill directed and wrote the movie, and also produced it alongside Matt Dines and Alison Goodwin through their production company, Strong Baby. Adam Merims was the executive producer.
I’m really excited about Hill’s new movie, Outcome! It’ll be his third time directing, following Mid90s and the documentary Stutz. I remember seeing him in You People last year, but he’s been pretty low-key since then. He’s said this new film is basically a way of showing what it’s like to live our lives online, which sounds super interesting and relevant to everything going on right now.
It feels like social media has flipped things around – I find myself way more worried about what strangers think than about the opinions of my friends and family, and that just doesn’t feel right. It’s like we’re chasing validation from people who don’t really matter, while overlooking the people who truly know and care about us.
More to come…
