Netflix has revealed a preview for their upcoming suspenseful movie titled The Woman in Cabin 10, set to premiere on their streaming platform on October 10th.
In Ruth Ware’s hit novel, the movie features Keira Knightley as Laura “Lo” Blacklock, a reporter drawn into a labyrinth of secrets during her work trip on a lavish yacht for a travel feature.
In simpler terms, David Morrissey’s character states early in the trailer something like, “Laura will be watching us,” and in reply, Hannah Waddingham’s character reacts sarcastically by saying, “The whole world is eagerly anticipating this.
Upon noticing faint screams during the night, she observes a passenger falling off the ship, but is later informed by her affluent travel companions that neither the incident nor any of the passengers or crew were actually missing.
Mayhem breaks out as she decisively handles situations, risking her own safety in the process, leaving viewers with a glimpse of Lo hurriedly descending a staircase in fear, also being violently pushed onto the yacht’s pool.
You can watch the teaser below:
The movie’s ensemble is completed by Guy Pearce, known for “The Brutalist”, David Ajala from “Star Trek: Discovery”, Art Malik of “The Living Daylights”, Gugu Mbatha-Raw who was in “Loki”, Kaya Scodelario famous for “Skins”, and Daniel Ings, a star from “The Gold”.
Essentially, Cabin 10 revolves around a woman encountering something amiss, honestly conveying it, but not being believed due to her identity. Previously, Ware explained this to Tudum, stating that the story resonates with many because it mirrors a common experience where individuals find themselves unheard and seeking validation, not just for Lo, but also for themselves.

In continuation, she remarked: “As I’ve often stated in my acknowledgements, creating a book is a communal effort, like a village coming together. However, being on set for Cabin 10 taught me that a film production requires the efforts of an entire town – it’s truly awe-inspiring to witness such dedication from so many people toward something you’ve brought into existence.
She went on to say, “Of course, it’s a considerable step of trust – similar to giving your infant to caretakers. However, I have confidence that with Lo and their team, they will be well taken care of.
