Kelly Clarkson Shares Ex Brandon Blackstock Is Sick, Postpones Shows

Kelly Clarkson needs to be there for her family.

Kelly Clarkson postponed the rest of her August Studio Sessions concerts at Las Vegas’ Colosseum at Caesars Palace due to her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, being unwell with an unknown ailment. They share two children together: River Rose, 11, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 8.

Kelly announced on Instagram, August 6th, that she regrettably must move the rest of her August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas to a later time. Although she usually maintains privacy about her personal life, the past year has seen her children’s father falling ill, and at this point, she feels it necessary to devote herself entirely to them.

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old hasn’t given a clear timeline for when the delayed performances will take place, but interestingly, Ticketmaster has already posted potential dates for these shows in the year 2026 on their site.

Kelly expressed heartfelt apologies to all those who purchased tickets for her shows, as she commenced her residency in July. She deeply values the patience, compassion, and understanding you’ve shown during this time.

On several occasions, Kelly has found herself needing to adjust her concert schedule at short notice. Just recently, the former American Idol contestant unexpectedly postponed two of her concerts because she developed a vocal problem.

After putting a lot of effort into preparations and rehearsals, she revealed on Instagram on the 4th of July (just hours before her scheduled performance), that her voice had been affected. She expressed her desire to ensure the shows were flawless for the audience, but also felt it necessary to take some time off this weekend and next week to rest, in order to prevent further harm. She emphasized that the show was remarkable and they aimed to meet everyone’s expectations.

And Kelly offered her apologies when she returned to the stage the following week. 

The host of the Kelly Clarkson Show expressed her apologies to the audience on July 11 via a TikTok video, acknowledging that some people had tickets for the weekend shows. She sympathized, explaining that sometimes our bodies can fall ill unexpectedly.
