Kelly Clarkson Shares Why She’s Leaving The Kelly Clarkson Show

It didn’t take long for Kelly Clarkson to decide should she stay or should she go.

After the passing of her ex-husband and the father of her children, Brandon Blackstock, who died from cancer in August, deciding to end The Kelly Clarkson Show after seven seasons became easier.

Kelly, who shares 11-year-old River and 9-year-old Remington with Brandon, explained in a February 20th interview on Today that their family dynamic has shifted recently. She added that it’s made her realize just how valuable life is.

Kelly is leaving daytime TV, but she wants her fans to know she’s still committed to her other work, like judging on The Voice.

People seem to think I’ve given up, but that’s not true. I’m just really busy with other work and commitments. I have too much going on right now, so I decided it was time to take a step back and focus on other things.

It wasn’t an easy decision, but the singer of “Because of You” described her time on the show as wonderful.

It was tough because the show wasn’t failing – the crew was amazing and everything was actually going great,” she explained. “That’s what made it so difficult.

Kelly explained that the situation impacted people’s livelihoods and that she considered her colleagues family. While it was a difficult experience personally, she felt it was the right choice as a mother, and recognized the significance of the decision for the entire team.

Despite the ending of The Kelly Clarkson Show, there’s a bright side: Kelly Clarkson will have more time to focus on her music career. She says this is a positive development, allowing her to dedicate herself further to creating music.

People are always requesting new music, but it’s hard to find the time. The daily routine and work are really demanding, she explained on Today.

Kelly recently returned to her show after taking a short break following her husband Brandon’s passing. She briefly shared how her children, River and Remy, are dealing with the loss of their father at home.

During a recent Q&A on the Kelly Clarkson Show’s YouTube channel, she talked about her children, ages 9 and 11. She described them as being at a sweet age – old enough to be independent with things like using the bathroom, but still young enough to enjoy cuddles and affection.

We’ve been going through a tough time as a family lately, so I’ve been letting my kids sleep in my bed more often.

The Grammy-winning artist loves that her home is now filled with a little more activity at night, and wouldn’t change it for the world.

She explained that her favorite part of the day involves spending time with her two dogs and two children. While it’s busy, she cherishes the sweet and funny conversations they all have together.
