Kelly Osbourne Mourns Death of Dad Ozzy Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne is grieving the loss of her father Ozzy Osbourne.

After the passing of the Black Sabbath lead singer on July 22 at the age of 76, his daughter paid a heartfelt tribute by sharing lyrics from the 1972 song “Changes” on her Instagram Story.

“I feel unhappy,” the 40-year-old wrote. “I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had.”

Shortly before Ozzy’s demise, Kelly – who starred alongside her father on MTV’s reality series The Osbournes, along with her mother Sharon Osbourne (age 72) and brother Jack Osbourne (age 39), from 2002 to 2005 – refuted rumors that the heavy metal legend’s health was declining.

A video circulating on social media is claimed to be my father, but it’s actually AI-generated,” she stated in an Instagram Story posted on July 11. “The voice sounds like my dad or David Attenborough, and the opening line is, ‘I don’t require a doctor to tell me I’m going to die; I know I’m going to die.’

As a devoted supporter, I felt compelled to address the makers of the viral video, expressing my disapproval. Furthermore, it’s essential to clarify that my father is not in the process of ending his life.

Indeed, he’s been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and his movement abilities have significantly changed,” she acknowledged openly. “However, it’s important to note that he’s not at the point of passing away. It seems there may be some misunderstanding on your part.

The singer known for “Changes” likewise refuted speculations about a suicide agreement between Ozzy and Sharon, who have been married since 1982 and share daughter Aimee Osbourne (born in 1983). These rumors originated from statements made by Sharon to The Mirror back in 2017.

She asserted, “Cease creating content suggesting that my parents have a suicide agreement, as it’s a baseless claim I heard my mother use once for attention. My father is not in danger of passing away. Please desist.

At Black Sabbath’s farewell show this past month, I was fortunate to witness a truly memorable family occasion: my partner, Sid Wilson (father of our 2-year-old son, Sidney), asked for my hand in marriage backstage. It was an emotional moment that any family would cherish, but true to form, the Grammy winner couldn’t resist adding a touch of his unique humor to the heartfelt scene.

“F–k off,” he joked as Sid began to pop the question, “you’re not marrying my daughter.”

During the latter part of his life, Ozzy encountered several health issues, notably a struggle against Parkinson’s disease, which he disclosed in 2020. Two years after this revelation, he underwent a significant operation as described by Sharon, an operation that held great significance for the remainder of his life.

After his passing, his relatives expressed they felt a sorrow beyond what words could express.

According to their statement to TopMob News, he was spending time with his loved ones, enveloped in affection. At present, we kindly request that everyone grants us our family’s privacy.

Prior to their recognition as Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Tommy Iommi were previously known by the band name Earth.

The heavy metal band members were ready to rock as they posed for this shot.

Born as John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England in 1948, Ozzy faced challenges with schooling at the start. However, his deep-rooted love for music eventually served as a driving force propelling him forward.

He shared with The Associated Press in 2010 that he had acquired slightly more knowledge during his school years compared to when he initially enrolled. Due to his dyslexia, he found it challenging to learn, which often led to him being bullied by one of his sisters about his reading difficulties. It’s a source of great embarrassment for him.

He went on to say, “If not for The Beatles introducing me to music so profoundly, I’m unsure where I’d be now.” Music, he explained, played a crucial role in helping him escape from the town where he was raised.

1968 saw the creation of Black Sabbath by him and his companions, sparked by a movie sharing the same name. Their first album, also titled Black Sabbath, garnered significant commercial acclaim. In 1971, he wed Thelma Riley, who later became the mother of Jessica, Louis, and Elliot Kingsley, his three children.

At the California Jam music festival, the lead singer, known for his “paranoid” hits, interacted warmly with the audience while performing, sporting flashy, serpent-adorned trousers as part of the band’s set.

Black Sabbath walked the streets of London in style.

The band performed at the iconic Hammersmith Odeon—now named the Eventim Apollo—in London.

The quartet – Tony, Ozzy, Geezer, and Bill – couldn’t hide their joy as they proudly displayed the silver plaque commemorating their recording achievement for the album, “Technical Ecstasy.

Ozzy relished the opportunity for a dark, intriguing photoshoot. The previous year had seen him dismissed from Black Sabbath, following issues with excessive drinking and substance misuse.

In his documentary, ‘Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne’, he stated, “Money, much like alcohol and drugs, was a destructive force in my behavior during that period.” He went on to describe it as “one of the lowest points of my life”.

At Madison Square Garden, Ozzy Osbourne, known as a solo act, kicked off the Diary of a Madman tour, happening only two days following an incident where he mistakenly assumed a real bat thrown onstage was a prop.

In the documentary, Ozzy remarked, “I guess I assumed it was a rubber bat,” he said, and then, without realizing, he popped it into his mouth and chomped on it. He exclaimed in shock, “Oh dear! It’s genuine!” referring to his habitual mischief.

Later that year, he married his manager, Sharon Arden.

In Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the singer famously known as “Iron Man” stood, sporting his signature dark eyeliner and holding a cigarette before a show. Their first child together, Aimee Osbourne, was welcomed into the world by Ozzy and Sharon.

After wrapping up their Bark at the Moon tour, Ozzy and Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil struck a pose. Following this, Ozzy and Sharon were blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Kelly Osbourne.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself reminiscing about the blissful days spent by Ozzy and Sharon, who exchanged vows back in 1982, during their tropical getaway in Brazil. Their paradise was complete with the arrival of their cherished son, none other than Jack Osbourne.

Black Sabbath solidified their eternal connection when they marked three decades together as a musical group, with Ozzy re-uniting among them just the previous year.

In the year 1999, the rock legend was present at the debut of the Ozzy Osbourne Action Figure at the McFarlane Toy Showroom, which was located in New York City.

The Grammy-winner rocked his signature black leather style at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

For over a year, starting from 2002 to 2005, the lives of Ozzy and Sharon were openly shown to the public through their reality television series titled The Osbournes.

About a year past, Ozzy and Sharon decided to take some time apart following an incident where Sharon was unfaithful. However, over time, they managed to patch things up. In a heartfelt interview on Good Morning America, Ozzy revealed that their relationship was once again on the right path.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had emphasized that Sharon was, in fact, the One.

He declared during his documentary that his wife is the one and only person he has ever fallen deeply in love with throughout his entire life, going so far as to say that she is his soulmate.

The renowned rock figure radiated with excitement as he unveiled his No More Tours II: Last Global Tour at a news briefing.

Reflecting on his illustrious career spanning five decades, Ozzy found himself amazed by the multitude of accomplishments he had achieved.

In an interview with Rolling Stone back in 2018, he expressed astonishment at how far he’d come in his career, saying, “I never thought I’d reach this point.” He also shared his bewilderment about surviving his wild past. He added that it seems like the person up there watching over us (if such a figure exists) wants him to keep going.
