Kelly Osbourne Slams “Disgusting” Comments on Her Appearance

Kelly Osbourne isn’t boarding the body-shaming train.

The former star of The Osbournes recently responded to online criticism about her looks.

Kelly shared that while many people offered kind support after her father’s passing, she also received cruel and hurtful comments. She questioned why anyone would expect her to be anything other than how she was feeling at such a difficult time, posting this message on her Instagram Story on December 10th.

Kelly Osbourne is mourning the loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22nd at the age of 76, and feels she deserves support and understanding during this difficult time, not criticism.

She felt that simply getting up each day and trying to live her life was a significant accomplishment, and she deserved credit for that effort.

Indeed, the “Shut Up” singer had a message for the people leaving the comments.

Kelly told them to really examine their own behavior, explaining that much of what they were criticizing her for actually reflected their own feelings and insecurities.

She explained, “You’re right to say I don’t look well, because I’m actually sick. Everything in my life is chaotic right now, and I don’t understand why people expect me to pretend like everything is okay when it really isn’t.”

Kelly, who shares 3-year-old son Sid with her fiancé, Sid Wilson, has spoken out against people leaving unkind comments online, particularly from other women.

Kelly expressed her disappointment, saying it was particularly upsetting that so many negative comments were coming from adult women. She noted that these women included counselors and mothers, some of whom seemed to be dealing with their own personal challenges, and lamented the lack of support among women, explaining they often choose to criticize each other instead.

She expressed deep frustration with women who criticize each other, especially during difficult times. She felt it was appalling to see women tear each other down, even when someone is grieving a loss, and stated she was no longer willing to tolerate it.

Kelly isn’t alone in her opinions. Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, who has been married to Ozzy since 1981, supported her daughter and agreed with her reaction to the upsetting comments.

Look, I’ve been following this situation closely, and what’s happening with her is really heartbreaking. As she shared with Piers Morgan, she’s completely devastated by the loss of her father. It’s affecting her deeply – she’s barely eating. I think sometimes when people appear ‘fine’ or put up a front, it’s often a way of protecting themselves from pain, or maybe it’s rooted in their own insecurities and how they view others. It’s a tough situation, and she’s clearly struggling with immense grief.

Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England in 1948, rose to fame as the frontman of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, formed in 1968 with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. He married Thelma Riley in 1971, and they had two children, Louis and Jessica, joining Thelma’s son Elliot Kingsley from a previous relationship.

Ozzy struggled with the downsides of fame, admitting to excessive drinking and drug use. As he said in a 2020 documentary, his behavior was destructive. In 1979, he was fired from Black Sabbath and began a successful solo career. He divorced Thelma in 1982 and married Sharon Osbourne, whose father had managed Black Sabbath.

Ozzy and Sharon were open about the challenges in their marriage, including a physical altercation in 1989 and a 2016 separation due to infidelity, alongside their joys, such as raising their children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. Their family life was famously documented on the reality show The Osbournes, which aired from 2002 to 2005.

In later years, Ozzy faced health issues, including Parkinson’s disease and injuries from a 2003 ATV accident, leading him to step back from performing. He played one final show with Black Sabbath in July 2025 and sadly passed away weeks later at the age of 76.

Sharon, born in 1952, began managing Ozzy Osbourne in 1979 after he left Black Sabbath, and their professional relationship quickly blossomed into romance. Ozzy admitted he fell in love with her even while still married to his first wife.

Beyond managing Ozzy, Sharon has also managed other successful groups, including The Smashing Pumpkins, Motörhead, and The Electric Light Orchestra. She later transitioned into television, starring in the reality show The Osbournes. She also appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, judged on The X Factor and America’s Got Talent, and hosted The Talk for eleven years until 2021.

Both Sharon and Ozzy have been open about their health struggles over the years. Sharon battled colon cancer in 2002 (and was later declared cancer-free), underwent a preventive double mastectomy in 2012, and was hospitalized in 2022. Despite facing numerous challenges, the couple has remained devoted to each other.

In a 2023 interview, Sharon described them as two kindred spirits who found each other when they were young and wild. She acknowledged that relationships aren’t easy and require effort, but emphasized that love can help a couple overcome even the most difficult times.

Aimee Osbourne, born in September 1983, is the eldest child of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Like her parents, she’s a musician, singing and writing songs both as a solo artist and with her band, ARO. However, unlike the rest of her family, Aimee chose not to appear on the reality TV show The Osbournes in the early 2000s. She explained in a 2021 interview that she didn’t want to benefit from nepotism and felt strongly about protecting her family’s privacy, especially given her father’s public life. As a teenager, she also wanted to maintain some normalcy and didn’t want to expose complicated family dynamics. Aimee was determined to build a career based on her own talent and felt the show wouldn’t align with her goals. While she’s stayed largely out of the reality TV spotlight, Aimee has acted in MTV’s 2003 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, done voice work for the animated film Postman Pat: The Movie (2014), and appeared in her own music videos. Her relationship with her sister, Kelly, is strained, with Kelly stating in a 2024 interview that they don’t speak and have very different perspectives.

Kelly Osbourne, the youngest daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, arrived 13 months after her sister. She’s a talented woman with many roles: she’s an actress, appearing in films like Life as We Know It and So Undercover alongside Miley Cyrus; a singer with two albums released; a reality TV personality on shows like The Osbournes and Dancing With the Stars; a judge on Project Runway: Junior and Australia’s Got Talent; a designer; and a TV host, having led programs such as Project Catwalk, Fashion Police, and Lego Masters Jr.

Kelly has openly discussed her personal struggles, including overcoming addiction and navigating past relationships – she was previously engaged to Luke Worrall and Matthew Mosshart – as well as dealing with public criticism about her appearance.

In 2024, she told Us Weekly, “I’m so grateful for every mistake I’ve made and every lesson I’ve learned. I have such an incredible life.”

That life now includes her son, Sidney, born in November 2022, and her fiancé, Sid Wilson, who proposed in July 2025. She believes Sidney helped her become a complete person, telling Us that having him gave her a purpose and a love she hadn’t known before, and helped her overcome self-doubt and self-hatred.

Jack Osbourne, born in November 1985, gained public attention after appearing on the reality show The Osbournes. He’s since explored acting with small roles in shows like Dawson’s Creek and the movie New York Minute, alongside appearances on various reality and competition series, including Dancing With the Stars and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

Beyond being in front of the camera, Jack has worked as a producer, creating documentaries like God Bless Ozzy Osbourne and the series Alpha Dogs. He often combines these roles, both producing and starring in shows such as Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour and his paranormal series Portals to Hell.

Jack has been open with fans about his personal life, sharing his struggles with mental health, his journey to sobriety beginning in 2003, and his multiple sclerosis diagnosis, which he received in 2012. He views this diagnosis positively, telling Today in 2017 that it motivated him to live a more purposeful and active life.

He is a father to four daughters: Pearl, Andy, and Minnie with his ex-wife Lisa Stelly, and Maple with his wife Aree Gearheart, and often expresses gratitude for his family’s support.

Ozzy Osbourne’s older children from his first marriage, Jessica and Louis, have spoken about their somewhat distant relationship with their father due to his constant touring. Jessica described a childhood filled with periods of adjustment as Ozzy came and went, making it an unpredictable upbringing. Louis added that Ozzy was a good father when he was home and sober, but those moments were rare.

Even after Ozzy and Thelma divorced, he maintained contact with his children. A memorable moment was captured on The Osbournes when he learned his daughter Jessica had given birth, making him a grandfather. Louis mentioned he sees his siblings, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, occasionally, though distance makes regular family gatherings difficult. They’re more likely to run into each other in New York than to share a meal together in England.

However, Louis and his father make a point of connecting regularly, with weekly Sunday phone calls and visits when Louis is in the UK. Louis describes his father as a loving and devoted grandfather.

Little is known publicly about Ozzy’s son, Elliot.
