Live from New York… it’s Kelly and Mark!
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are preparing for the start of the 38th season of “Live! With Kelly and Mark”, set to air on September 2. TopMob News offers a special sneak peek into the hosting duo, as they settle into their brand-new studio.
In the picture, Kelly and Mark, a couple married for almost three decades with children Michael (age 28), Lola (age 24), and Joaquin (age 22), are beaming as they perch on their work desk, often used during their broadcasts for Live!.
In this scenario, Kelly is embracing Mark, both adorning stylish outfits. Kelly dons a fashionable, short green dress with buttons, accessorized by bright mustard yellow heels, while Mark chose a sleek, black leather flight jacket paired with coordinating trousers.
For the milestone season of the show, we have some notable names joining us. These include Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rose Byrne, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Lola Tung, Alix Earle, and Taylor Kitsch.
The duo commenced recording at their fresh workspace within Disney’s Hudson Square district in Lower Manhattan – a shift from their previous Upper West Side studio where they filmed Live! for an impressive 37-year span, starting from April onwards.
2025 marks an extraordinary year for the longest-running daytime talk show in history, now leading as the top entertainment talk show on TV. Not only that, but it’s also been nominated for a remarkable three Daytime Emmy Awards!
Kelly, who stepped into the role of co-host in 2001 after Kathie Lee Gifford, joined by Regis Philbin, Michael Strahan, Ryan Seacrest, and now Mark, shared her thoughts on the impact of the recent studio relocation.
Back in my days, taking time off to have children wasn’t as common or well-supported like it is today. However, the extraordinary team I worked with at People made it possible for me to bring my little ones along. Since we were running a live morning show, they were mindful of our schedules, which allowed me to juggle my full-time career and my role as a mother seamlessly.
Instead, the 54-year-old mentioned that Lola does not view some of our producers merely as professionals; rather, she sees them more like other mothers.

During a 2017 episode of Live! With Kelly, Kelly Ripa playfully criticized her husband Mark Consuelos for being rude after their private moments. She said, “Whenever we have special time together at home, he becomes grumpy towards me afterwards and I don’t like it. It seems strange to me.”
However, she later clarified that what she meant was not actual rudeness but rather his complete lack of interest or being sound asleep post their time together. Mark then humorously defended himself by stating that one cannot be rude if they are sleeping.
The reason Michael Consuelos, Lola Consuelos, and Joaquin Consuelos are careful when browsing social media is because of their famous father, Mark Consuelos. During a 2019 episode of his series Riverdale, he announced that he would be managing the Instagram feed, which prompted Kelly to comment, “Oooooh, Daddy, I love it when you take over.” As a result, Kelly is confident that her children have made efforts to remove any trace of themselves from social media, even blocking accounts that mention their family name and keeping their parents at bay on social media platforms.
In 2020, when Kelly shared her Halloween throwbacks featuring Mark and friend Bruce Bozzi dressed as CHiPs officers, her husband offered some thoughts on the snug fit of the trousers. He joked that it might be a shadow creating the bulge, to which she humorously replied, “Ummmm baby, are you seeing shadows?” Later, during her appearance on Daily Pop’s show, Kelly didn’t shy away from discussing the topic that kept their marriage strong for so long. When host Justin Sylvester pointed out this was the reason for their long marriage, she responded, “It’s not the only reason, but I would say it’s definitely one of the top three.
Instead of grumbling, the endless Halloween photo madness led Kelly to develop the practice of thoroughly examining her body before posting any cherished family moments for sharing.
When Justin Sylvester remarked on Instagram that Kelly had been especially selective with the photos she shared from a November 2020 tropical vacation, the morning host playfully retorted, “You have no idea just how meticulous I’ve been. And how restricting it can be (I’m not complaining).
The longevity of their married life, spanning nearly 30 years with three children? According to Kelly, it’s all about love and intimacy, as she shared on a 2021 episode of Live!.
The unique approach the couple takes to handle tension became evident during Mark’s stint as a temporary co-host, where he and Kelly talked about the TV series titled “Scenes From a Marriage.
In a different phrasing, Kelly stated that in the Consuelos household, issues like those they were watching wouldn’t arise because Mark would promptly address them. She implied that he would reassure her with words like, “Don’t worry, I can handle this,” or “You’re upset? Let me take care of it.” If she felt overwhelmed, she believed he would say, “I see you’re working hard, let me help.” Kelly emphasized that Mark handles most situations with love and intimacy. However, Mark corrected her slightly, saying not everything is resolved with love and intimacy alone, to which Kelly agreed, but added that it applies to almost everything.
Ever since I discovered my love for the late-night, I’ve found myself drawn to Mark, who seems to thrive in the wee hours. Yet, when it comes to our private moments, he often prefers the break of dawn, as revealed during his interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast back in 2025.
But I’m no morning person, not when it comes to romance. So I made my stance clear to him, “There’s a balance we need,” I told him pointedly. “It can’t always be your way. It feels like you have the reins most of the time, and with our daily work together now, it’s only fair that sometimes it’s my turn. And my time is nighttime only.”
Luckily for me, our early-morning job usually solves this dilemma. As I said about Live, “This gig has a unique charm-it almost steers him away from the morning during workdays, which is nothing short of a miracle.
In simpler terms, Mark made some bold comments when Kelly shared a picture of herself wearing a vibrant rainbow sequin sweatshirt. Noticing the phrase “More Glitter, Less Twitter” on her top, the actor jokingly asked, “Darling, is that a G or a C? – just curious for someone else.
Kelly Ripa reminisced about the past when celebrating her youngest son Joaquin’s 18th birthday, as it reminded her of a special memory associated with his birth. In February 2021, Mark Consuelos shared an Instagram post commemorating their son, saying ‘Our little guy has grown up.’ To this, Kelly playfully responded, ‘I can confirm that the process was incredibly enjoyable.’ Interestingly, it seems that their youngest child’s conception took place during a trip to Montreal.
During a September 2022 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” hosted by Andy Cohen, his friend was asked about a game called “Have You Ever Had Sex There?” The response was affirmative for various locations such as public restrooms, boats, and even while filming their soap opera “All My Children.” However, there are some places like cars on the way to an event, department store dressing rooms, and their daytime talk show set where they haven’t (yet) engaged in romantic activities. Cohen humorously mentioned that they used to have sex on a boat parked near his house.
Kelly’s preferred posture is the one that highlights her best side. During the peak of the pandemic, while she was working on her show in NYC and he was filming Riverdale in Vancouver, they developed some rather absurd sexual rituals, as she shared during a March 2023 episode of her Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast.
She also became quite resourceful. Due to her concern about her appearance over FaceTime, she started propping up the computer on a ladder so that Mark wouldn’t have to see the effects of gravity.
It seems Kelly emphasizes that she and Mark are maintaining a professional relationship, avoiding any potential mix of business and personal matters, much like what may have led to the departure of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes from ABC’s GMA3. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in April 2023, Kelly humorously stated that she and Mark have made a commitment to abstain from any romantic entanglements while working together, as they are aware of ABC’s policy against TV co-hosts engaging in off-screen relationships. In other words, they’ve sworn off any “side activities” to ensure they adhere to the network’s guidelines.
After their youngest son Joaquin left for college in 2021, Mark and Kelly grew accustomed to living in an empty nest. As they shared, they had gotten into the habit of freely moving around the house, keeping doors open as desired. However, all that changed when Lola returned from London in June 2023, and they found themselves needing to secure their home once more. Joaquin came back for his summer break, necessitating another lockdown.
When they temporarily moved to their New York apartment, the lack of privacy led them to think outside the box to maintain their freedom. Laughingly, Kelly admitted, “You wouldn’t believe the measures we have to take!
When Lola returned to live with her parents during her final college semester, she started entering their room without knocking, which they wanted her to stop doing. During a January 2023 episode of Live, Mark playfully teased his daughter about what would happen when she barged into their room unannounced. “Be warned Lola Conseulos,” he joked, “because this week’s going to be a bit strange, isn’t it?” When Kelly laughed and asked why this week was so unusual, Mark replied with a smile, “It is now.”
Mark and Kelly explained during the show that they had talked to Lola about knocking before entering their room because she had been doing it without warning. According to Mark, he told her, “I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, I’m very happy that you’re home. We missed you. You are the heart of this family. You’re so funny and you’re just fantastic. But you need to knock before coming in.
