For Kelly Ripa, it’s braless or bust when it comes to the ultimate comfort.
That’s why the daytime talk show host refuses to wear a bra whenever she flies on a plane.
Kelly confessed on the January 5th episode of her show, Live With Kelly and Mark, that she doesn’t wear a bra when flying. She explained, simply, ‘Life is hard. What’s the point?’
Besides, the 55-year-old quipped that she doesn’t “need a bra” once she’s not filming.
Okay, so she finally explained it! I was losing it trying to figure out why she’d wear that particular bra on stage. Apparently, it’s purely practical! She said, and I swear I almost fainted, that she wears it just to clip her mic to her chest! That’s it! No hidden meaning, no fashion statement… just a mic clip holder. Honestly, it’s so her. It’s brilliant, really. It makes total sense now!
Mark, however, doesn’t think it’s realistic to fly without underwear, playfully explaining that men need support.
Kelly is trying to travel even lighter on her next trip. After Mark told her about the idea of “naked flying”—traveling with absolutely no carry-on luggage—she loved the concept and wants to try it.
“I’m going to try that,” she said to her husband, whom she’d been married to for nearly thirty years. “This year, I want to try traveling without checking any luggage – just taking my phone, wallet, and lip balm, which you can hold onto for me.”
However, Kelly noted that you’ll never catch her “raw-dogging” a flight.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been hearing a lot about this trend people are calling ‘raw-dogging’ – and it’s not what it sounds like! Basically, it means embracing the stillness of travel. Instead of immediately reaching for your phone or headphones on a flight, you simply be with your thoughts. No music, no movies, no books – just you and the journey. It’s about disconnecting to reconnect with yourself, and honestly, it sounds wonderfully mindful.
The former All My Children star described a popular 2024 TikTok travel trend as a sign of potentially troubling behavior, calling it “torturous for no reason.”

Kelly Ripa jokingly complained on her show, Live! With Kelly, back in February 2017, that her husband, Mark Consuelos, would become irritable after they spent intimate time together. She said he’d be short with her and seemed annoyed. While Kelly later said she was just kidding, Mark felt the need to respond when the story became a trending news item. He playfully defended himself by saying you can’t be mean to someone if you’re unconscious—and that he often is, because he sleeps soundly. Kelly then clarified that she didn’t mean ‘mean’ exactly, but rather that he seemed completely disinterested, as if he were still asleep.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ children, Michael, Lola, and Joaquin, are careful about what they look at online. This is because of moments like when Mark announced he’d be managing the Riverdale Instagram account in 2019, and Kelly playfully responded, “Daddy, I love when you take over.” Kelly believes her kids have made a conscious effort to remove any trace of them from social media. In an April 2023 interview, she explained she’s certain they’ve blocked any accounts mentioning their family name, and generally avoid seeing anything related to their parents online.

During a 2020 Halloween post featuring photos from years past, Kelly shared a throwback of her husband, Mark, and his friend Bruce Bozzi dressed as CHiPs officers. Mark’s outfit sparked a playful exchange, with one commenter noticing the snug fit of his pants. Mark jokingly claimed the appearance was just a shadow, prompting Kelly to playfully question if he was actually seeing shadows.
Later, while on the show Daily Pop, Kelly addressed the comments directly. After host Justin Sylvester joked that it was a key reason for their long marriage, Kelly responded with a laugh, saying it was definitely among the top three reasons.

As someone who’s always sharing life’s moments, I totally get the pressure to present everything ‘just right.’ It actually started after a particularly intense Halloween – I found myself doing a full-body scan of every photo before I posted it, just to be sure! A friend pointed out that my Instagram feed from a tropical vacation was, let’s say, very curated, and honestly, he wasn’t wrong. It’s a bit of a balancing act, and while I’m not complaining, it definitely makes me think twice about what I share.

Kelly revealed the key to her nearly 30-year marriage and raising three children: “Love and intimacy.” She shared this during an appearance on the show Live! in 2021.
Mark and Kelly revealed how they support each other through difficult times while discussing the show Scenes From a Marriage when Mark filled in as a guest co-host.
Kelly was commenting on the couple’s struggles, saying that this kind of drama would never happen in her own marriage to Mark Consuelos. She explained that Mark would quickly address any issue – whether it was someone being upset, feeling unwell, or overworked – and immediately know how to fix it. She described how Mark resolves everything with ‘love,’ and playfully added ‘and sexy time,’ though Mark jokingly protested that wasn’t everything, Kelly conceded it was ‘just about almost everything.’

Kelly admits she’s not a fan of morning sex, telling the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in July 2025 that she finds it “disgusting.” She’s made it clear to her husband, Mark, that their intimate life needs to be balanced. “I told him, ‘We need to alternate – it can’t always be when you want it.’ I feel like it’s my turn 90% of the time, and now that we work together daily, it has to be my way sometimes, and that means only at night.”
Luckily, their early morning work schedule on Live has unintentionally solved the problem. She jokes that the job has almost made him lose interest in morning sex during the week, which she considers a “miracle.”

Okay, so this just happened – Kelly shared a really fun photo of herself in this amazing rainbow sequin sweatshirt with the slogan ‘More Glitter, Less Twitter,’ and Mark… well, he playfully questioned the lettering on her shirt! He jokingly asked if the ‘G’ on the sweatshirt was actually a ‘C,’ claiming he was ‘asking for a friend.’ It was a lighthearted moment, and honestly, a little bit cheeky – but totally relatable, right? Sometimes a fun fashion statement just begs for a playful comment!

Kelly Clarkson jokingly reminisced about the fun she had conceiving her son Joaquin, who recently turned 18. When Mark Consuelos shared a birthday post for Joaquin in February 2021, Kelly replied with a playful comment about ‘making him,’ revealing that the conception happened during a trip to Montreal.

During a September 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen playfully questioned his friend about where he and Mark had been intimate, playing a game called “Have You Schtupped There?” The answer was a definite yes to several locations. They’d been intimate in a public bathroom and even on the set of their old soap opera, All My Children, as well as on a boat – a boat Cohen jokingly pointed out used to frequent the area near his home.
While Cohen teased that their public displays of affection suggested they’d likely been intimate everywhere, Kelly revealed a few places remained off-limits. They hadn’t (yet) gotten intimate in a car, a department store dressing room, or on the set of their talk show.

Kelly has a playful side, and even extended that to how she presented herself during virtual calls with her partner. While she was in New York City for work and he was filming Riverdale in Vancouver during the pandemic, she shared on her March 2023 podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, that they developed some funny and inventive ways to connect intimately. Concerned about how she looked on FaceTime, Kelly admitted she rigged up her laptop on a ladder to create a more flattering angle, effectively defying gravity for Mark’s benefit.

Kelly Ripa made a joke about avoiding a workplace romance like the one that ended Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ jobs on ABC’s GMA3. After her husband, Mark Consuelos, joined her as a co-host on Live, she said they’ve agreed to avoid any romantic involvement while working together. She explained this was because ABC doesn’t approve of co-hosts dating, jokingly promising they wouldn’t have a secret affair.

After their youngest son, Joaquin, went off to college in 2021, Kelly and Mark settled into life with an empty nest. As Kelly explained to TopMob News in June 2023, they’d grown accustomed to a relaxed lifestyle, leaving doors open and moving freely. But things changed when their daughter, Lola, returned from London, and again when Joaquin came home for the summer – suddenly they had to remember to lock up! Things got even more interesting when Kelly’s parents came to stay with them in New York. The lack of privacy meant they had to find creative ways to have some alone time, as Kelly jokingly admitted.

When Lola returned home to finish college, she fell into the habit of entering her parents’ bedroom without knocking, which they wanted to stop. In typical Mark fashion, he jokingly warned Lola about what she might find if she continued to walk in unannounced.
During a January 2023 episode of Live, Mark quipped, “Be warned, Lola Consuelos. ‘Cause this week’s freaky week, isn’t it?” Kelly playfully asked why this week was special, and Mark simply replied with a smile, “It is now.”
The joke stemmed from a conversation Mark had with Lola after she repeatedly entered their room without knocking. He told her, “I said, ‘Lola, I don’t want you to take this the wrong way. I’m very excited you’re home, we missed you, you’re the heart of this family, you’re so funny and fantastic… but you have to knock!”
