Kelly Stafford Gets Candid About Daughter’s Behavioral Issues

Kelly Stafford is sharing insight into her recent parenting struggles.

The social media celebrity, known for sharing children Sawyer, Chandler (both aged 8), Hunter (7 years old), and Tyler (5) with NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford from Los Angeles Rams, has recently disclosed that she’s been going through a challenging time with one of her young children.

Kelly mentioned during their August 28th episode of ‘The Morning After’ podcast with Hank Winchester, that she’s been having significant challenges with one of her daughters. This child seems like someone she doesn’t know anymore, and currently, she’s making an effort to approach the situation gently.

Recognizing that children can sometimes display their most challenging traits at home, Kelly stated that her daughter’s troubling behavior has started affecting not only her time at home but also her schoolwork and sports activities.

Certainly, she mentioned that her daughter has begun exhibiting behavior such as disregarding coaches, failing to listen, displaying an uncooperative attitude, and walking away during conversations.

Before the latest barbecue event, the 36-year-old informed her daughter that she wouldn’t be able to join if the misconduct persisted. The following day, I happened to listen in on a troubling discussion between her and her daughter named Tyler.

Tyler gazes at her and remarks, “You’re looking fantastic in that attire,” she later remembered. However, instead of praise, her other daughter responded by facing her, giving her a thorough once-over before stating, “You look terrible.

Upon witnessing Tyler weep and withdraw into her room, Kelly struggled to suppress her growing irritation.

At that moment, she confided in her daughter, ‘I’ve tried every possible approach – staying close to your room, removing items, even having heart-to-hearts as a fellow woman. But nothing seems to be helping. I’m drained.’

I shared with her, ‘It feels unfair to your wonderful sisters that my focus currently is entirely on you due to your recent challenging behavior.’ I expressed, ‘You’re stirring up troubles. I can’t help but wonder, is it for attention? Are there hidden struggles in your life that I’m unaware of?’

In response, her daughter then began to cry and said, “I don’t know why I’m so bad.”

Later, Kelly shared with her daughter that although her love for her is boundless, her behavior of being cruel and a bully without cause was something she could not tolerate. To help herself think clearly about her actions, Kelly would walk for 30 minutes to and from school every day.

However, it was painful for Kelly to carry out her promise when, after just three days at school, her daughter repeated the pattern of poor conduct.

But on the third day of school, despite the promise she had made, it was agonizing for Kelly to see her daughter repeat the cycle of bad behavior.

Yet, after three days at school, when her daughter resumed the cycle of misbehavior, it was tough on Kelly to keep her word.

She wept throughout the entire journey as she walked home, and so did her daughters upon seeing her depart. Yet, she found herself at a loss for words, expressing something along the lines of, ‘I’m unsure of how to proceed.’

She mentioned that it might be due to her encountering girls who are exceptionally kind, considerate, and upright. She continued by saying she doubts the notion that every family will have a rebellious child, and she certainly doesn’t wish for such an outcome.

Following his performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Matthew had the delightful opportunity to meet up with three of his daughters in a private suite.

Following a full day of supporting Dad at sports events, it’s understandable that Matthew’s children are eager for some cozy cuddling time after the games have finished.

No matter if they’re at the stadium or heading to school, Matthew’s girls always enjoy donning the Rams’ team colors.

When Matthew worked from home during COVID-19 shutdowns, his daughters quickly wore him out. 

Kelly expressed her deep feelings in a single image as she posted on Instagram, titled “Every bit of my love condensed into one snapshot,” showcasing her daughters cuddling next to Matthew.
