Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes Break Up Again

The country singer and actor, who briefly split up last September but then reconciled in December, are now separating again, several sources report.

TopMob News has reached out to their reps for comment but hasn’t heard back.

Just a few days before, at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Kelsea mentioned that things were going well in her relationship.

We’ve been together for a long time and share a full life together,” she shared with Entertainment Tonight at the February 1st show. “He was with me this morning getting ready, and he’ll be there with me when everything is finished. I truly believe in and cherish love.”

In fact, the “Patterns” singer explained that their on-and-off status was a bit overblown.

Kelsea explained that the situation seemed worse than it actually was, and that experience taught them a valuable lesson.

Fans were surprised to learn in September that Chase and Kelsea had broken up after almost three years together. The news was especially shocking because Chase had recently posted a loving birthday message to Kelsea just days before.

In a September 12th Instagram post, Chase wrote, ‘Even though you say you’re not thrilled about turning 32, I’m really looking forward to it.’ He finished with, ‘Happy birthday, my love.’

Kelsea Ballerini, who was married to Morgan Evans from 2017 until 2022, publicly shared how she was enjoying single life. She described a cozy autumn filled with simple pleasures like hot dogs, painting her porch, early bedtimes, spending time with friends, visiting parks, seeing Kenny Chesney in concert, and taking the antidepressant Lexapro (Escitalopram).

Chase was filming the last season of Outer Banks with his former girlfriend Madelyn Cline, as well as Drew Starkey and Madison Bailey. He shared some behind-the-scenes photos on October 29th from the European filming location, showing himself working out and exploring local towns. He jokingly referred to himself as the “Dumpster fire response team leader” in the caption, referencing a button he was wearing in one of the pictures.

Chase and Kelsea had resolved their differences and were back together by New Year’s Eve, when Kelsea shared the happy news.

On December 1st, 2022, around 1:30 a.m., Kelsea Ballerini messaged Chase Stokes on Instagram. She was out with friends at a bar and had been drinking at the time.

They finally met in person on January 7, 2023, and she now celebrates that date as their anniversary.

Kelsea shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast in November 2023 that he got out of his truck without saying anything, then immediately grabbed her face, kissed her, and pulled back, saying, ‘Thank God you’re real.’

Their romance blossomed after that first DM, which Kelsea shared in September 2023.

The pair snuggled together to watch the University of Georgia easily defeat Texas Christian University at the 2023 College Football National Championship game, which was held in California.

In August 2023, Kelsea shared a nostalgic TikTok video showing how she got ready for her first date with her partner, which happened on January 7, 2023.

She shared a video with the caption, “Happy weekend! Here’s a video I sent to my best friend before my first date with Chase.”

Kelsea Ballerini showcased her outfit for the music video of her song “How Do I Do This,” which details the experience of going on a first date after a long time.

“Here’s the look, with the boots” Kelsea said while checking herself out in a full-length mirror.

She turned to show off her hairstyle—half up, half down—and explained, “I’m using this hair clip to try and look trendy.”

She kept talking to a friend, telling them that her date was picking her up and they were going to get sushi. She promised to call tomorrow with all the details.

She took a deep breath, raised a finger, and finally said with determination, “I can do this. I can do this.”

After a little playful movement, she explained that a date is simply going out to eat and chatting about your life. She reassured him, saying, “It’s nothing to worry about!”

The couple publicly confirmed their relationship by appearing together as a couple at the CMT Music Awards in Texas.

A few days later, the pair went to the opening night party for the Broadway show Shucked at Capitale in New York City.

Chase joined Kelsea on a trip to her hometown of Knoxville, Tenn.

The two attended Armani Beauty’s ACQUA DI GIO and Gen A celebration in Malibu, Calif.

Kelsea was surprised and delighted when Chase unexpectedly met her at the airport, and both of them shared sweet videos and photos of the moment online.

The couple only had eyes for one another at a Venice Film Festival event.

While in NYC to perform on TODAY, the singer scheduled in a date night with her No. 1 fan.

Kelsea shared on the show that she appreciates how supportive and understanding Chase is, adding that he’s a truly kind person.

To celebrate Kelsea’s 30th birthday on September 12, 2023, Chase shared a collection of photos and videos featuring the three-time Grammy nominee.

“Dirty 30 looks pretty damn good on you ballerini,” he captioned the series. “i love you.”

The couple had a memorable way of celebrating Kelsea’s birthday: they matched their outfits on the red carpet at the 2023 MTV VMAs.

In November 2023, Kelsea shared some personal details about her sex life during an interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, simply stating, “I’m having a nice time.”

Honestly, I’ve been following her for ages, and she recently said something that really hit home. She used to talk about how her actions were all for someone else, like she was putting on a show. But she says that’s totally changed now! She’s doing things for herself now, and it’s amazing to see. It’s like she finally realized she deserves to be happy, and I’m living for it!

Before dating Chase, the musician hadn’t considered how important intimacy could be for building a strong connection with someone.
